I had to go over to town today.. On my way there's this house - set quite a distance away from other homes on each side - that is decorated SO awesome for Halloween.. I mean these people really did a terrific job!
Anyhow - I had my camera with me because I wanted to get some photos of the fall foliage around here (it's at it's "'peak" now).. I thought it would be neat to have a photo of this house to include in my scrapbook of things in this area, so I went up and knocked on the door to get permission..
The woman was very friendly - said she had no problem with that at all - but seemed totally surprised that I would ask permission first..
I wouldn't have felt comfortable doing it without the owners permission - especially in this day and age where everything is shrouded with suspicion.. (I also know they have children because I see them outside playing in the summer - although they were in school today..)
So were my actions "odd" or not??

We drove by this little house in town that always has HUGE tacky decorations up and I slwoed down enough for DD to snap a photo. It was all decorated for halloween and on both sides of the front door there were one each of Obama and McCain. It was too funny to pass up. LOL There was no good place to pull into to ask and there was an older man sitting on the porch rocking. We flung our hands up and gave him a wave and he smiled and waved back and took the photo.
