Does YC have access to Stormalong bay at BC? If so, how far is the pool area?

Yes you did read it right that guests staying at the Yacht Club do have access to Stormalong Bay, however since I have not stayed there I can not say how far the pool area is from the Yacht Club. However I am sure there is someone who can tell you the answer.

It's not that YC 'has access to Stormalong Bay at BC'; it's that the two resorts are next to each other and share Stormalong Bay http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/yachtbeach.jpg

Yacht Club and Beach Club are connected to each other side by side. If you go out the main back door of each resort you will be at Storm Along Bay, which is long and runs the length of both resorts.

Yes, Y&B Clubs adjoin each other and going out eithers back door puts you in the Bay, per se. Storm-along-Bay is a windy canal idea with arms that end in small pools and what not, not a shaped pool but more of a long running canal, Beach Club end has the huge slide and Yacht Club end has the kiddee area, it winds under bridges, has currents, sand bottoms, a really unique swimming area but does get crowded in the prime months. Beach Club is the closest to EPCOT, International Gateway.
