Did I mess up?

Hi,

We have Spring Break plans and DH will be joining us each afternoon. I am using the website. Just inside 60 days I made identical FP+ selections for all of us for each of 4 days.

On day 3, DH will be in class and not be able to use our FPs for early in the day. So I successfully canceled all of his 3 FP selections. I was able to create new FP+ for ST, RnR, and ToT for after he gets to the park.

Now for day 4, I canceled 2 of the 3 FPs for early in the day. But we all want to keep our 3rd Illuminations FP. How do I now go back and select his other 2 FPs? When I try to create new FPs for him, it says something like, "you already have FP selections at Epcot for this day. Would you like to cancel and proceed?" I'm afraid we'll lose his FP for Illuminations if I say yes.

I tried going the "Copy" route, but that's not making any sense and I don't want to proceed and make it worse. Same with the app.

Can someone walk me through this? Have we lost his opportunity to select those other 2 FPs and still be with us at Illuminations FP?

Unfortunately Canceling cannot be undone by you. You need to call IT to reinstate the 2 FP opportunities.

Never cancel; leave FPs as is and then Modify when you are sure of the changes you need.

That's what I thought. I remembered that but couldn't figure out to modify only his. I'm sure I just overlooked it. Should have checked here first. It's not a deal breaker since he'll be most interested in sticking with the kids anyway.

Can someone send me that British link that shows FP availability. If Illuminations is still out there I could conceivably start from scratch like I did with HS.

From the MDE app, you can check by going into Modify to Change FP experience.

You can see what's available. As long as you don't Confirm, your original FPs remain intact.

It's easier to Modify FPs by using the app.

Yes but we are already holding a FP for that show on that day, so it won't show me availability.

Ok, so in the end it was an exercise in futility. I goofed again and accidentally confirmed the modification you suggest. It didn't ask me to confirm, just did it. So now I've canceled completely and ended up with what he started out having.

At least I'm learning, right?

Now you know to never Cancel.

Modify to Replace would also show what's available even if you are holding the same attractions. Just back out of MDE and nothing gets confirmed.

I have tickets that sit in my MDE and there were FPs for Illuminations still available for tonight.

I don't think there is a way to do what you are trying to do. You are not allowed to pick and choose your favorite FP from different selections.

I'm not sure why you think I am trying to pick and choose favorites, or what that even means. Guests are absolutely allowed to customize each person's FP selections to their choice in both attraction and time, independent of each other. The only restriction being the tiering.

DH will not be using his FPs with us. So his need to be different. We chose thrill rides in the evening for him at HS. The kids and I are doing other FPs that morning. I wanted to do the same thing at Epcot, except we would all use an Illuminations FP. The remaining 2 would be different for him.

It's all settled now. I just don't understand what you think I'm not allowed to do. I'm probably just misreading something.

What I meant, is that you can't make a, for example Test Track at 10:00, Mission Space at 1:00 and Soarin' at 4:00, and decide that you want to keep the Soarin', and just change the times of the other two. You have to go in, and pick the three again, and hope you get what you want.

Anyone can do the steps that I posted earlier.

The Modifying and/or Replace aspects of MDE allows changes for each specific FP.
