Did I mess up my chance for extra SDFP?

In June 2015 I booked our vacation for May 2016. I have two reservations:
#1 - 7 days @ Pop Century with 10 day park hopper + waterparks
#2 - 7 days room only @ Pop Century

I was so excited at the time of booking, the first thing I did was go online and link EVERYTHING under the same MDE account.

Now I am reading that I could have used the wristbands from #2 as phantoms for SDFP.

Is it too late for me to do this because I have already linked them?

Yes, I believe so. We had a CM at Guest Relations trying to be helpful last trip and found my 2 accounts and linked them...nooooooooo. From that point both sets of MBs were clones of each other.

I made a new account for this year's reservations so we will use some of last year's for SDFP.

See I am super scared this is going to happen to us by mistake when we check in. We have a room only the day before our package starts and I made sure to make a separate account for the room only ressie with MB's as our rogue bands for SDFP, our other set is linked to our normal MDE for our room, dining, and tickets starting the following day. I want to bring up at check on the first day that we have a package starting the next and want to activate our tickets early and possible not have to change rooms, but my biggest fear is that when they pull up both separate accounts they might get linked on accident during the process. I wonder if there is any way you can make sure and accomplish this sort of stuff without the risk of them linking the two ressies and accounts by accident. :confused3

I'm sure someone more in the know than me will jump in, but if you tell the CM you don't want the accounts linked before you start you may be ok. The part I am not sure about is activating the tickets early. That may cause a problem. Sorry I couldn't be more help! Good luck.

You don't have to give them your Stay #1 reservation information.

Go to a Guest Relations window and ask to activate the ticket portion of Stay #2. They would never know about Stay #1 and the MDE #1 unless you mention it.

I would wait until after Sunday to worry about this in case the loophole is closed with the updates.

So if I want to have the opportunity to do a SDFP, is the only way to find a friend with old tickets or wristbands? Or can I purchase additional bands in the park and request they don't link them?

Ok so I have a friend that just returned from WDW and she has given me her used park passes (cards). They are not linked to my MDE account, but I assume that they are linked to hers. From what I understand, I can now use these as a SDFP+ at the kiosks each day that I am in the park. But if I want the ability to manipulate the selections on MDE I will need to get my friends sign in. Or is there a way for me to get the cards linked to a secondary MDE account for myself?

The easiest thing to do would be to just "friend" them via MDE and as long as they have their settings set so you can view "All" their plans (rather than only "shared" plans), you could then see and manipulate their FPP's without them having to give you their sign in or move cards. I don't believe you can reassign a pass/card without any tickets left on it so I don't think you could link them somewhere else.

How would I friend them? I have sent invites to people I had on my account, but never tried with somebody that already has one. Is it done in the same way?

Yes, you can just do it via their email (has to be the one they used for the account). If they're friends of anyone you're already friends with they may come up as a choice automatically but otherwise you just enter their name and email and it sends them the request.
