Did I marry Grumpy??

Thankfully for me, DH is also a Disney fan, so that part was easy. But, I definitely recommend a DCL cruise!! We have been on 5 so far over the years, and we are planning on number 6 for our 10th anniversary next December!! And, we can't wait. We're even considering renewing our vows onboard!!

We know that they have something for everyone, adults and kids alike, and you just can't beat Disney for their service!!!

We have our first cruise scheduled for next December! We're taking the ten day cruise (can't remember which boat that's on)...

Do what my wife does and let him go to Vegas for 4 days with his friends if he agrees on a Disney vacation with the family.

Here are my suggestions:

1. Let him win. Tell him he can pick a trip between now and your anniversary for a "family" trip. NOT camping. Something new. If he suggests camping, tell him "been there, done that, not interested". (To me, camping is a recreational activity, NOT a vacation). So, lay the rules...no Disney World, no camping. Start on a clean slate and ask him where he wants to go as a family and why. The reason I suggest this is that once your DH goes on a family trip that is NOT Disney, he will realize how much BETTER Disney is for families and he will probably not suggest any thing else until the kids are much older. This happened to my own parents. My mom was good.

2. Plan a trip somewhere "adult" for your anniversary, and leave the kids at home. They are old enough to be left with a relative for a few days. Cut the cord...this is your 10th anniversary for crying out loud! Go to Vegas, the Bahamas (there are 3-4 day cruises), or somewhere like New York City or L.A.

3. In lieu of #1 and #2, ask him how he feels about DisneyLAND!!! I can tell you with 100% conviction that Disneyland Resort is NOT Disney World, and I think it would be worth exploring "new Disney frontiers" so your husband does not have preconceived notions of Disney parks in general. Disneyland alone is worth a trip to the west coast, but the LA/Orange County area also has LOTS of worthwhile things to see and do for a family of your demographic. PLUS, if you really wanted to, you could take a WEST COAST Disney Cruise and spend a couple days at DLR before or after. Throw it out there...you never know.

Thanks to everyone for their replys!!
I'm not a flyer by any means -- so being in a plane longer than 3 hours for me would require great amounts of sedatives.... so Vegas, anything overseas, DL in CA -- doubtful I would get there unless we drove, which DH is not a fan of w/ 2 kids in tow, and you loose more time in travel that way.

He did say to me last week that "if you're really interested in Disney again, maybe we should check out the Disney Cruise 1/2 land, 1/2 sea.".

If they had a smilie fainting, I'd insert it here.

I've been looking on-line, and actually had the cruise vacation planning DVD already (thought I tossed it out ages ago -- must be a sign....). Interested, but with DD at age 3, excursion wise, there was only 1 she could do. And the price seems way more than I think he would imagine. We can do Disney for half the price easily. I want the most fun AND the best value. Is it possible to have the cake and eat it too??

And -- since I'm posting this -- to all you Castaway Club members -- what time of year would you recommend? I'm thinking May -- but our 10 yr anniversary is Sept. when school starts up again (also hurricane season :scared: ) Feedback please!!! Thanks!!

(for those of you supporting the BoSox -- Beckett ruled last night huh??!!!)

My first cruise was the last week in October. We missed Wilma by one week. We will be leaving again this month on the 18th. Our first trip was a 7 night eastern. We pick this time of year because of our schedule and the price was do able. My youngest son was 1 1/2 our first time and this year he will be three. We did an excursion to the butterfly farm, coral world, I did early excursions and then we went back to the ship by noon for lunch, and nap time for the little one. Since most people are off exploring, the pools are less crowded. My husband and oldest son hit the pools. I took a nap with my son or ordered room service (mickey bars ;) ) and watched movies while he napped. You can also do excursions on your own. My sil went with us and they rented a car and hit the beach at every port. Castaway Cay is so relaxing, no worries everything is provided lunch, lounge chairs, child care at the beach. These are the perks I think are worth the money 24 hour room service, entertainment everynight, set meals in the evening, child programs, unlimited sodas, unlimited soft serve ice cream, adult only areas everything you need is right there no traveling. Quite a few people try three or four night cruises to see if it is something they would really enjoy, you usually hear about them rebooking for a longer one next time around and you can get a room credit for rebooking on the ship. Sorry I know I am rambling, I hope I have answered some of your concerns.
