Did I just do something terribly stupid?

We're going to Disney for a short moms and kids trip in May (bunch of friends bringing bigger kids, babies staying home with dads). One night, I had reservations at Artist's Point for dinner, but I really wanted to eat something, anything, at Cinderella's Castle, so I kept calling and got a reservation for dinner. Did I just give up a great meal at Artist's Point for CRT? I've heard awful things about the food but I'm hoping the atmosphere makes up for it. Since it's a short trip I can't squeeze in Artist's Point in elsewhere, so it will have to wait for another time.

I've been to Disney many times but I've never eaten at a table service place, so I kind of wanted to experience as much as possible on this short trip. I just hope we don't regret CRT.

Personally, I don't care much for Cinderella's Round Table. Artist's Point definitely has the better food, but CRT is just more entertaining.

Agree with Tiggerxx....not a fan of the food at CRT, but I do think everyone should do it at least once for the sheer magical experience. :cheer2:

And since you have kids with you, they may prefer CRT to the more grown-up atmosphere of Artist's Point.

Have fun!

We went to CRT for lunch and really enjoyed the food. DH and I have looked at the AP menu and didn't really see too much we'd eat.

I've eaten at both. It depends on what you want out of the experience. AP beats CRT in the food department by a landslide! The atmosphere is lovely at AP, but more for adults. The atmosphere at CRT is all about the kids and princesses.
We take our daughter to CRT, and do a "mom and dad" night at AP. So, maybe do CRT this trip, and AP when your DH is able to join you!

I agree with previous posters; the food is better at Artist Point, but the atmosphere, especially for kids, is much more magical at CRT.

I would say CRT is fun and is very Disney but I personally would choose AP for the food, relaxing atmosphere and the beautiful resort it is located in.

The Year of A Million Dreams lives on in 2008. You wanted the castle; Dream granted. Go, love it and make memories with your children! Artist Point is just a fancy dinner that you and hubby can do some other time.

The older kids are 10, 17 and 14. Only one is a girl but the 14 year old boy (who is a big football player) is very excited about CRT. The 17 year old is a major foodie--very discering.:goodvibes

My oldest is five (younger two with daddy). I think you all are right--we'll go back there when we go again as a family. Hopefully we'll be able to do breakfast or lunch then.

Thanks for the information. I can't wait!

I thought AP had good food but was a big snore. Your kids will be bored senseless. It's too uppity with cloth napkins, etc. They will like the atmosphere of CRT so enjoy that one!
