I just called to request Dalmations at ASMo. When the CM asked me 1st or 2nd floor I said 1st. Should I have said 2nd? Is Dalmations far from the pools & buses? I hate it when I second guess :scared: myself!

Well, I don't have an answer for you exactly, but I requested 2nd floor only because I don't want to hear kids running around or heavy walkers above me.
I think 1st would be easier to come and go, but I've had other experiences with loud people above me and it drove me nuts.

Dalmations is close to the buses, food court & pools. Floor location is a matter of preference. On the first floor, you sometimes get a lot of foot traffic going by, but it is more convenient.

You should be fine on first. There are no pools in between the two dalmation buildings. It was quiet when we were there in NOV. You have to walk about the same distance to the busses as to the pools........We were clear on the far end of the building...looking almost at Mighty Ducks and were still close to the food court, busses, etc.

Don't second guess yourself. Your noise level is based on your neighbors. And you have absolutely no control over them. If we were next to you and a NASCAR race was on, you'd hear us. If my son and his family was next to you, you'd hear "MITCHELL!" a few times (he's two). If my in-laws were next to you, you would hear their TV at ear splitting volumes from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM. If my dad and stepmother were next to you, you'd hear my stepmother out in front of their room talking on her cell phone for about two hours every day.

So it really doesn't matter what floor you are on.

I agree that the noise level has more to do with the neighbours than the foot traffic.

Last year I stayed in Dalmations 4 on the back side of the building about 3 rooms away from the elevator. There was zero foot traffic noise and in fact I thought that all the posts about noise were exagerated......until....the neighbours moved in. I had the pleasure of listening to an argument and then about an hour of drawer slamming (while they unpacked I guess). I realized that for the first 3 nights I had no neighbours and that was why it was so quiet:rotfl:

I did read in another post that all the resorts with exterior corridors tend to experience less noise from the outside. This is due to the fact that these doors must be weather proof. I tend to agree because our last stay was at POFQ and our room was near the pool. When we were outside, the pool noise was very loud but after going in the room we couldn't hear a thing.
