We booked while onboard to get the discount and lesser deposit. We want to change to another date and the TA said I have to pay a 20% deposit on the new itinerary. what happens to the almost 1k we already put down while on the boat? Do we still get 10% off of the new itinerary price? The hubs will not be happy if I didn't understand right how "ghost" bookings worked. Help I'm almost in tears thinking of the money it sounds like we might loose. :(

Did you transfer the OBB to your TA within 30 days of booking it onboard? If not, the TA cannot move that OBB for you and will do a regular new booking. To use the OBB in this scenario, you will have to do the booking directly with DCL.

If the TA does have control of your OBB, and you simply want to change dates, the funds paid-to-date should also transfer. If you change to a cruise shorter than 7 nights, the deposit will be 20% (but should also deduct any funds already paid); a cruise of 7+ nights should be a 10% deposit (again minus what was already paid).

If you have already passed the PIF date for the OBB, then you are into the penalty phase and probably cannot move the OBB.

Enjoy your cruise!
