Did Hawaii reopen today at Poly today?? Anyone there now??!!

Wasn't today the big day that Hawaii was supposed to reopen? Did it?? How is it?? How do the rooms look?? Don't keep us in suspense Lots of us are waiting anxiously to hear.

I was wondering that too. We leave for the Poly tomorrow.
We aren't staying Concierge but I was curious to see if Disney met the projected date of October 17.

I think on Deb's site it said it started to reopen on the 15!! Didn't see any details though.

I'm with you...can't wait to hear all about it. A little over amonth until we're there!

Yes the Hawaii Building is open, I got Pics and the inside scoop. Just got back today. Left the Hawaii at 7:00 am this morning been on a plane all day so I am little tired, will post tomorrow.

Not sure about Hawaii because we spent over 24 hours trying to get a room <b>anywhere</b>.

I'll write a full report, but suffice to say when we went to check-in the Poly was overbooked and we had to go to the Contemporary, where we had an awful room. When we finally did get a room at the Poly (upgraded to LV Tahiti) everything went well but we were very disappointed.

We made these reservations last March.

You mean to tell me that you had confirmed reservations at the Poly (were they for concierge?) and when you got there you were turned away??

No one from WDW called you ahead of time to tell you that they had no room for you??

Capt Coconut - What were your ressies? COncierge? GV? LV? How come you got there to no room? How did Poly handle this mess? We heard of the overbooking but those people all seemed to get calls You have us scared now!!before they left. What a shock! Details please.

I was also reading about people getting "the call" so about a week before leaving I called to confirm reservations. I called the CRO and they confirmed my reservations. We had three nights GV booked through Yahoo Travel. I never got "the call.

We got to the poly about 2:00 on Thursday and I went to check in. The CM checked her computer, said "excuse me" and disappeared to the back. She came back and started whispering to the manager so I thought it was trouble.

The manager was nice and of course comped the night at the Contemporary. But if this happens to you, <b>be sure to negotiate a good room before leaving the poly.</b> I didn't do that and was stuck at the end of one of the outer buildings in a room practically <b>in</b> the parking lot.

We had to cut Friday short to pack for the move, then we got to Poly around 11:00. Sure enough, we could check in but no room was available. It wasn't until 3:00 we actually got a room, like I said, upgraded to LV Tahiti.

All in all, a giant hassle.

Id have loved to go to the Contemp after the blood and glass i had in my Samoa room.

Don't read my 3rd and fourth day of my live trip reports if your going soon..actually do read them and becareful
