Did DVC make a mistake

Maybe DVC determined they needed that exact amount of units to make VWL and BCV cost effective and self sustaining.

If they were to add GV's they may be cannabilizing their resorts amenities and resources so they decided against the larger units for their smaller resorts.

Access to affordable GV's is why we purchased an OKW add-on.

It would be nice though, but Im sure it was a well thought out decision.

Well, I am just sitting here drooling about a two floor VWL GV. Log homes are famous for their second story lofts, and the theme of VWL would be a perfect match.

Though I understand the thinking and sentiment, giving others access to the 11 month window for a non home resort is not possible nor reasonable. One can always buy at a place that has the GV access if desired.

I think you should try waitlisting at 7 months just to see what develops. Then if it comes through, you will be pleasantly surprised! Another thought for the future might be to swap reservations with someone who owns at OKW. You make an 11 month ressie for them, and they make an 11 month ressie for you.

In this case, the configuration is that of a usual 2BR with access to the extra studio thru the master bedroom. I'll guess that the extra studio also has 2 connecting doors- but never saw the connecting room. I can't recall the room number (it was on the top floor though and we did have an ocean view from the balcony).

Really? So there is a one bedroom in the Inn? I thought I heard of that. Doesn't sound that nice without the advantage of the larger dinning and living room area like the cottages. But, I guess it's nice to know the options there. I didn't realize until recently there are also connecting Inn rooms.

I guess the safest bet if you want a GV and own at BCV or WLV is to use the trade board to try to swap your points with a resort owner where GV are available. It's probably the only bet.

No, this was in the building to the left as you face the beach. To my knowledge, there are no 1BR Villas in the Inn.

Our home resort is VWL. We're doing the Family Gathering thing for next Christmas (even before the promotions started. ). We seriously considered switching to OKW, just so we could have the GV. We didn't because we desperately wanted to share VWL with the relatives .... and it's beautiful at Christmas. This is probably the only time we'll be able to have an extended family trip like this; this is our one chance to share our home resort with them.

As it stands now, we have a two-bedroom for our family and my parents. We also have a studio for my sister's family. We've requested that the two be close to one another, but we all know that it's just a request.

I would have loved to had us all together in a GV at the VWL. Either my sister or BIL will have to leave the group to put their kids in bed - and stay there. It's not the worst thing in the world, but it sure limits the level of adult socializing after the preschoolers are in bed.
