Did DVC drop the Riviera resale restriction?

What happens to the reservation of the ones who were able to book but not eligible? Does DVC say “ you knew the rules, so too bad so sad” or do they honor what their pos terms are at the time of booking?

it would probably be like overborrowing, they will cancel it out even if you snuck it through

It will be canceled for sure. Those points are not eligible for the resort per current POS language.

It would be like getting a home resort with non home resort points as a glitch. If I was someone who booked this way, id have a back up plan or call and confirm with someone in writing it is not a glitch.

I've had Riviera show up occasionally on my resale contract. It's definitely a glitch.

Sorry folks. Per MS, there has been no official change and IT is looking into it since it appears to be another system glitch.

Frustrating lately though how many issues it is having. I think the system got Covid or something because it was never this bad. Occasionally things slowed or timed out, but not like the past year with things happening that are not accurate.

I put in a wait list reservation so I am waiting on chat now to find out what's going on....agent has been looking into it for 12 minutes so i bet she is as perplexed as the rest of us. I don't want the wait list to go through and then disney cancel the reservation all together if I was not allowed to stay there. Will update when I find out.

I am a resale owner at BCV and was able to see/search book Riviera (I did not book anything). It is interesting for sure, but my money is glitch and anyone who booked will get cancelled out.

Most likely a glitch, but one that has never happened before in the history of DVC -- a glitch that actually favors resale members.

I wonder if they'll just let whoever manages to grab a reservation keep it. I'm not sure if they have an easy way of sorting through which reservations use resale points, so if it's something that they'll have to sort through every single reservation, I bet they would just let it slide.

I think I was the first to post on several boards about the VGC April 1 full-on availability so I watched the posts frequently. Several people called in to MS it to make sure it was legit and MS kept saying it was. Took days for MS to put a stop to the VGC bookings. Will be interesting to see how long it takes them this time.

I'd consider modifying my BRV reservation and see what happens, but I'm outside my 7 month window.
