Did Double Dipping FP Just End?

For what it's worth, the testing period was just officially stretched until January 5th. I don't know how it will impact everything, but I would imagine they will keep precautionary measures in place, such as KTTW cards being able to pull legacy FPs. That is just my guess, but I do know that the testing period is officially extended.

I participated in the testing at the end of September, and after I got home, I took the survey Disney sent me. In it, they asked a few questions about whether we used FP+, legacy FP, both, or neither during our trip. If you used both, it asked questions related to how many legacy FP you used compared to FP+, whether you used FP+ and legacy FP at different parks in the same day, and (if you had used legacy FP in the past) whether you used more or less FP+ and legacy FP this trip compared to how many legacy FP you usually used in the past.

Based on the survey, I'd say Disney very clearly meant for testers to be able to use both FP+ and legacy FP. If that's not the case now, but non-testers continue to be able to use more than 3 FP per day, I'm going to be annoyed.

Wait, so your survey asked if you used Legacy FP instead of, or in addition TO FP+? If Disney put that question in a survey, they CLEARLY were under the impression that people would do one of 4 possible things. Use FP+ only, use FP+ and Legacy FP, use ONLY Legacy FP, or no FP at all.

With that in mind, can we please stop with all the cheating the system, double dipping, cry baby shenanigans? It's abundantly clear that Disney's INTENTION was that testers could use both the old AND new system during testing, otherwise why would they ask a question like that in a survey?! Until they publicly announce you cannot anymore, then it doesn't really matter, does it?!

Very interesting. Would be contrary to what Disney had previously reported RE: Magic Bands simply being an alternative to cards and not a mandatory replacement.

No, it said certain people/groups of people would no longer get a KTTW card. As in, some people are going to have to sink or swim and see how it goes.

I'd be willing to bet that they have to take the KTTW cards away to stop the double dipping. They can't stop it any other way. So that's how they are going to give whomever is forced into this no other option.

No, just certain people will no longer get. KTTW card. Nothing will stop working, some people just won't get a key card and will have to just use the MB system.

We have no idea if they are testing more than just FP use. It may be that many people are using their key cards to enter rooms or pay for food/ items and Disney wants to force them over or force the CMs to deal with any issues that are happening with the bands instead of relying on the backup key card.

I read on the Pop resort thread that they "couldn't" print KTTW cards one day and that people could not get into their rooms with their MBs, access their dining plans, get into the parks,etc. Some of the people just couldn't get into their rooms. These poor people spent hours trying to get the problems fixed. I'm paying a fortune for this vacation, I will be seriously angry if Disney messes with my vacation to test out their system.

Yes, the survey asked if we used FP+, then asked if we also used legacy FP in addition to FP+. If we used both, it asked a few questions about how many of each we used/how often we used each. Disney was very clearly aware that you could do both, and obviously expected that people would do both.

Honestly, it wouldn't make sense to test FP+ without letting you also use legacy FP. Otherwise, how could you give feedback to compare and contrast both systems, particularly if you've never been to WDW before, or if you haven't been there in a long time?

we were actually denied legacy Fastpasses in late September using our KTTW and our hard copy Annual passes.

At times we would receive a ticket that said, we did not use this ticket media to enter the park. We used our Magic Bands to enter.

When asked about it, we were told they were testing the machines for the future.
