Did Double Dipping FP Just End?

In the interests of science and stuff, I thought I'd check this out - double dipping WAS still fine for me.

I checked into Pop today, AP holder with a MB. On the way out of Epcot just now, I went to Test Track and was able to pull FP with my AP, the KTTW card I got today when we checked in, and with old KTTW cards from May and June. I didn't have any problems with CM's and I didn't receive any "not a valid fastpass" tickets.

(I just wanted to try each option for the sake of reporting back - I'm headed to MNSSHP so I gave the 4 FP's to a family that was hanging out by the ride and they seemed happy )

Sidenote: I had 3 FP+ booked for this afternoon that I wound up not using at all. I really think they need a better system here. When I booked the FP+ I thought, we'll arrive at Epcot and do rides first! But everyone was hungry, we skipped the rides in favor of F&W booths, and I wasn't able to cancel them. With regular FP, we never would have got the passes in the first place.

Out of curiosity - why weren't you able to cancel them? Lack of a smart phone or were you having issues with the app?

I agree with you... I know paper FPs never overlapped but I have been finding it hard to plan on us utilizing all three FP+ choices in a day. If I do them back to back, I feel like we'll be killing time in between and if I try to spread them out, it just interferes with our breaks and meals

Do the KTTW cards that are getting FP have a magnetic stripe on the back that the legacy FP machines are reading?

KTTW cards will stop being issued to certain people/resorts as of Oct 27th. That is the beginning of the end of double dipping.

I think this mess will get better over the next couple weeks. There is a perfect storm of massive amounts of new users to the system plus IT screwing up the amounts of FP/FP+ available plus lots of schools have implemented fall breaks plus there are even tours groups here which is very odd. It should shake out for a bit soon at least until Tgiving and then again for a couple weeks before Christmas.

We went over the same weekend 2 years ago and had a lovely trip (even with Jersey Week/the end of F&WF/Veteran's Day) and I was hoping for the same this year. But, all of the FP+ stuff (and the fact that we can't participate) is freaking me out.

as of.today current APs still.pull fps and as of some.point they now work as your MB. We forgot our bands today so I.checked to see if we.could use them and they are working.

Awesome! I am hoping to just use my RFID AP It is easier to just keep in my pocket than the MB. I could suck it up if need be though.

Additionally, I am a grown woman who uses the child sizing of the MB...

NP. I'm still gonna.stick with my plan of arriving at rope drop, hopping and using my FP+ in the afternoon. Fingers crossed my magic band will work and.I'll get on my rides. If not, I'll still be at WDW and that beats work anyday!

And I said, oh, I figured with the MB we wouldn't be getting KTTW cards, and they said, oh, no, we will give you both, in case the MB don't work for any reason. And either way, you can still use your KTTW card to pull extra fast passes!

Yes I do, because you are disagreeing with me on something that is a fact. If you don't use your FP during your allotted time, it doesn't make the standby line move faster. It makes the FP line move faster.

that's not true. The FP/SB line mix at the merge point is adjusted depending on the FP line length. Less FP line, more SB line waiters in the mix past the merge point, therefore, SB line moves faster.

Incorrect. KTTW cards will always be an option to receive upon check-in, they just won't work in legacy FP machines.
On MDE you will be able to specify whether you want cards or bands. The new KTTW cards do everything the bands do (FP+, etc etc.) except for small extras like a cast member walking up to you to wish you happy birthday, since bands transmit long range while cards do not.
