Does it count as morning sickness if it lasts all day? ;)

My first pregnancy was the worst. The morning sickness nonsense started before I even knew I was pg, and they had to bring me the sick tub in the delivery room since I was a little too busy to make it to the porcelain altar.

Some days were better than others, but I can honestly say I had some degree of nausea every day for about 34 - 35 weeks (DD was born at 36 weeks)

Yuk!

Nope, never really got morning sickness, not even now that I'm 7 weeks along with twins.

I've had a few (very few) moments of feeling nauseous, but it always passes within a few seconds.

Neither of my two sisters ever had it with their pregnacies (one has 4 kids, one has 3). I wonder if there is a genetic component?

Yes, with both pregnancies. It was pretty bad with DS1. I still can't eat hamburger after that.....

With both my dd and ds I would get extremely nauseous if I didn't keep something in my stomach. So I always had crackers or something to eat. With each of them I was teaching and had to eat while teaching. One of my students made the comment "no wonder she is getting fat, she eats all day!" The student didn't realize I was pregnant. Anyway, I never actually threw up, but on several occassions I thought I would feel better if I did. This only lasted about 12 weeks.

Not one day with DS19 or DD18. My mom had it with both me and and DB for most of her pregnancies. DD18 just had DGS and she had dinner-sickness for about 3 months. She ate dinner, then got sick. She was fine in the morning.:confused3

I voted yes. I never threw up, but wanted to a lot. Went away shortly into my second trimester. "Morning Sickness" is such an odd term, mine would be at any time of the day.

I actually cried one day because I knew it was lunchtime and I SHOULD eat something, but didn't want to because I knew once I did I would feel terrible.

Mine kicked in at 6 weeks and continued till she was born. From 6 weeks on I couldn't eat (or even smell) bread. Then from about halfway through I couldn't eat potatoes. Towards the end I couldn't eat rice. Basically anything starchy set me off. I remember about 8 months in sitting and crying at my DH because there was less and less I could eat and I was getting so depressed. The plus side was I was back in my jeans a few days after delivering!

I even had to have ginger biscuits on my bedside cabinet as if I woke in the night I got nauseous.

The midwife thought it was marvellous that I had such high hormone levels, and at first warned me it might be twins! And my test was positive before I'd even missed a period as my hormones were so mad!

I have to say that the slice of toast and marmalade I had in the delivery room after she was born tasted soooooo good.

My experiences are one reason why she is an only child - no way did I want to risk sickness like that again!

I didn't get sick with either pregnancy. I was fortunate. One of my girlfriends was terribly sick her entire first two pregnancies. She would feel sick from the moment she got up until she went to bed.

First baby I vomitted 2-3 times a day, for about 5 months. Felt genreally yucky all the time.

Second baby vomitted a minumum of 6 times a day, usually about 10, for about 5 months. Didn't actually feel that bad, just got sick a lot.

Baby 3, only vomitted 3 times the entire pregnancy, but felt nauseated all day every day for about 7 months.

None were pleasant. But very happy with my boys!

I was sick from six weeks to 22 weeks - everyday, all day. At least 6-8 times a day. Violently sick. I had a reprieve while I was on bed rest in the hospital from 23 weeks to 31 weeks, but it started again at 31 weeks and I continued to throw up in the delivery room. But I had twins, so I don't know if having two babies made it worse.

With my first pregnancy, I felt queasy for a while in the morning, during the first trimester. With the second one, I didn't even have that. So I think I was pretty lucky.

#1 was the worst out of all of them. This grocery store we use to shop at use to call something called Potato Wedges.. OMG the thought of them made me gag. And that old wifes tale about the pregnancy being healthy was really shot down with that.. she is my "problem" child lol

no morning sickness, but I did have a very strong food aversion (poultry was death to me, even though normally I love it). I also had a heightened gag reflex which made tooth brushing a bit of a challenge.

I love love loved anything with a red sauce...pastas, pizza.

both pregancies were pretty much the same for me. with the twins I think it was a little more extreme, and added a craving for chocolate

My morning sickness started around noon, peaked at 6-7pm and didn't go away until I was in bed. It was mostly just quesiness, I couldn't handle smells but I never threw up.

Once I got the dosage of B6/Unisom right it was much better in the afternoon and only got worse just as I was due for another dose.

Two pregnancies, no sickness with either one. I did feel a little queasy with certain smells, but did not get sick,

Nada, not even with my twins! No food adversions, but I was very sensitive to smelly things.

Never felt sick in the AM- but was terrible from noon until about 7pm every day. I never actually threw up, but felt really close to doing so a lot. I really, really hate throwing up, but I think it would have been a relief to get it over with every once in a while to feel better. Smells were the trigger- we had a microwave in our workspace, and the smell of microwave popcorn would send me running to the bathroom.

Thank goodness, once I got through my first trimester, the nausea went away. My mom tells horror stories about throwing up many times a day throughout both of her pregnancies. Luckily, I didn't take after her in that.

Nope.

If it weren't for the belly I easily could have forgotten I was pregnant at all..

Yes, severe. When I wasn't on medication (Zofran), I was throwing up over twenty times a day. The Zofran took away most of the vomitting, but I was still constantly sick to my stomach.

With my first pregnancy, Zofran wasn't around yet and I had to be rehydrated in the hospital three times.

The whole time with both pregnancies. I was lighter at the end of the pregnancy than when I conceived...nice diet 'eh? I lost a ~15-20 pounds in the first 6 weeks, then put smaller amounts back on. I hated the smell of almost everything. My family was a bit put out by my nose during those times
