Did Boat and Bike Plan last week

Here are some notes on our experience using the plan last week.

1. In the paper work you receive at check in it said the plan was for 4 people, when you sign up at the dock, the form they have you fill out has space for 5 adults.

2. You can take out 5 water mice at a time, one for each adult. You can take out a pontoon boat while other in your party are out in the mice.

3. It is called the family plan and they file the form with your family name on it in a box. They pull it out and take one of your room cards until you return.

4. You can have family members with different last names on the plan.

5. One person can be out in a boat when other decide to go out, they just take another room card.

6. You can have both bikes and boats out at the same time among the 5 adults, we did.

7. It was truly unlimited, my son was out one day for 5 hours straight. It does seem too good to be true, he loved it. We would never have paid what his usage would have been on an hourly rate.

8. On the last day, the person running the counter said he was supposed to check in every hour. This was the first we heard of this, don't know where this came from, no one else ever said it.

This is so cool. It's the info I've been wanting to find out. Thanks. In terms of the family plan (unlimited usage for the duration of the stay), do you have the stay at VWL for the entire time, or will they honor the package just as long as you stay at a WDW resort? What do you suggest for our party that has 5 adults and three kids (11, 7, & 5)?

This is the WL plan, right. What is the cost, and what if all the stuff is rented out when you want to use it??

We have not yet used the plan, but I have done mucho research including many phone calls because we plan to use it when we go in May. Here is what I know...

The plan costs $199 for a "family" of 5. It is available for sure at WL, POLY, and YC. (BW does not have a marina). You must be a resort guest, but do NOT have to be staying at the resort where you join the plan. So BW folks can use it at YC. The plan is NOT interchangable among marinas. So if you get it at WL, you can not use it at POLY or YC. Other marinas may also have the plan. I have heard that CB has had it in the past as well.

All 5 members of the family must be listed when you sign up, but they do NOT have to be present at that time. So if you have family arriving later, you can start using the plan before the others arrive. However, you can not drop and add people to the plan as guests in your party arrive and leave. Once you list the 5 people at the beginning, the names can not change.

The plan includes unlimited use of watermice, pontoon boats, and bikes. Surrey bikes are NOT included. Young children, not on the plan, MAY ride along in watermice and pontoon boats, but they can not have their own watermouse or their own bike.

A family of 8 can sign up for 2 plans, but you must have at least one adult on each plan.

If what you want is rented out, you wait your turn.

If after an hour, someone is waiting for your craft, you let them have a turn and get back in line. Shouldn't really be a problem except in PEAK season.

I have spoken to the recreation director of WL marina, and these are the official rules of the program...so if you get different info at any given marina, ask for a manager or or rec director. Some cast members do not know the rules well, which is why i had to call so many times.

When they say you must have an adult on the plan.......I'm wondering if this would work: we are travelling with my kids and my niece and nephew......they will be 16, 16, 18, 20, and 20....since there are 5 of them - do you think they can have a plan? - and the adults can sit at the Trout Bar?? LOL

It is $199 for a family of 5....whether you stay 2 nights or 2 weeks. We have a 12 day trip coming up next week and can't wait to do the plan.... Bay lake and Seven seas Lagoon...HERE WE COME!!!!

This is great information. We will be going home for the first time in June and will have 2 sixteen year olds with us. They are excited about this plan since they had looked into the cost per hour when we were there last month. Thanks!

We will be at BWV in November.....do they have this there also??? Or only at VWL???? Thanks for the info. I have never heard of this before. Where/How did you learn about this great plan???

So, if there are 5 adults on the plan, can 'extra' children be included on the boats (depending on the capacity of the boat)without paying more? What age counts as a child for this?

This is the first time I heard about this program. We love WLV and Bay Lake. Sounds ver reasonable for a family of 5. However my wife and I are alone, our kids are grown. Is there a plan for couples?

Hilary, children and/or adults can ride as passengers on any of the boats. However there is a 320 weight limit. Only the 5 people signed up originally will be allowed to drive any of the boats. You have to be at least 12 years old and 5 ft tall in order to drive a water mouse and at least 18 years old to drive a pontoon boat.

We used the plan and I was able to take my parents and aunt out on the pontoon boat while my sister, brother and his wife and daughter were on the water mouse. Also, you don't have to be staying at WLV in order to sign up for the plan at WLV.
