the woman who stayed at home and did everything for her husband, including cutting his toenails ( :crazy2: )...do you happen to remember the name of the book she "lived by"? Fabulous Housewife? Something like that...I have a feeling this could make a hilarious christmas present.

(sorry if that offends anyone)

I will say this...I have been known to pluck extremely long eyebrow hairs off my DH...hehehe...mostly cause they bugged me. heheh

LOL!
yeah, should have just gone to abc.com and checked there...

too funny! thanks chickadee!

no prob! I thought it was pretty funny last night too and I think I might buy it for my sister since we always joke about that kind of thing. no offense to anyone here, it's an inside joke between my sister and I about being perfect housewives.

omg..
reading the reviews by other people for BOTH these books is hilarious!

I haven't read the book, but admit I read "surrendered wife" and found parts that I felt would be helpful to a marriage. The difference is I'd see it more as a surrendered SPOUSE thing. I see being servants to EACH OTHER as a good thing - not necessarily all about the wife, but rather about going out of your way to bolster each other's strengths and allow each other's gifts to shine. I have yet to find a book where I agree with everything so I usually look for what I feel I can learn from and toss the rest.

I'm guessing I might read "fascinating womanhood" the same why - trying to glean something helpful while getting a good giggle out of the rest of it. I only watched part of the show, but felt like the woman who lived that way seemed very happy. It was the right thing FOR HER, even if it wouldn't be for other people.

Like all of these wife swap shows they chose two extremes - one who was "all about me" and one who was the ultimate servant. Where do they find these people?

like the girl who found that only men more than 10yrs older were attracted to her and noticed how much more attention she got wearing barrettes and conservative clothes?

Oh, heavens, I have to ask. I rarely watch that show because it freaks me out but did his "new" wife have to do that? I really think that's where I'd draw the line. :rotfl2:

the "new wife" gave him a manicure (cut his fingernails)...but not his toenails.
