Did anyone take or rent a stroller for a 7 year old?

Thank you everyone for your ideas! Now I don't feel so silly taking the 2 strollers.

Ours are 8,5,3. We bring an umbrella and rent a double. It keeps everyone together and moving fast. If they want to walk, they are welcome to.

The WDW doubles are much more suited to older children than a folding stroller.

Does anyone have pics of the single and double WDW strollers that you can rent? Any idea of the cost also ?

Thanks Bunches !!!

We used a stroller for our 7 year old recently, and was glad we did. After a few hours of walking, who wouldn't like to sit down and be pushed a bit???

It saved his energy to make it thru the day and worked great for us. We saw lots of kids his age and older using one-there is a TON of walking involved, so I think it is fine.

For a single stroller it's $6 or $7 and double $10 (?) I'm guessing on that one. At the end of the day you get a dollar back (Disney Dollar) If you are park hopping save your receipt and you won't have to pay for another one to rent.

When we went in 2001 my youngest was 4 and we rented a single the first day. Our 8 year old fought for a spot the entire day... wasn't too fun. The rest of the vacation we rented the doubles.

The strollers are really nice and move really easy through the parks, even rougher terrain. If you are going to use the strollers for the parks only and not anything else it might be easier just renting them rather than bringing ones from home.

You can view pictures of the strollers on www.allearsnet.com (hope I don't get scolded for giving you another site to look at) :worried:

I correct myself... single strollers are $8 and doubles are $15

PaulaSue,

Everyone gave you excellent reasons for using the stroller for older kids. All I can say is, "They are SO RIGHT!" ;)

This one is easy. Ignore your neighbor and don't think twice - rent the double for your two older DDs and bring the umbrella for your little one. If you are lucky :wizard: , all three of your princesses princess: princess: princess: may fit in the double.

Now you can move on to much more difficult decisions such as where to eat, LOL ... :confused3

Thanks! We will bring both the double and the umbrella. When Nicole gets tired I can pop her in the double and one of the smaller ones in the umbrella.

Plus I save the 15 rental fee a day, times 7 :cool1:

The perks of my Dad driving, we can take anything. Dh and the girls and I are to fly so I get the best of both worlds.

It absolutely depends on the kids. My kids were 9mths, 5 and 7 when we went a couple of years ago. We took our single to AK. What a mistake the 5 yr old ended up sitting in the stroller holding the baby. The rest of the trip we took our double to all the parks. That being said the 7 yr old did fine and never wanted to ride or sit down. Last trip youngest was 1 1/2, 6 and 8. The two youngest still rode all of the time. We are planning a trip for this October. The boys will be almost 3, 8 and 10. The middle son still insists that he will need a stroller and will still ride at the mall if I have the double with me. Granted he is small for his age and wears orthodics for flat feet so I understand, but the oldest wouldn't get caught dead in a stroller at age 7 even with flat feet. Talk to you kids and see what they think. I will be doing the double stroller again (dh thinks that ds8 should walk, but why have him crying about leg pain or being tired). IMO the double really isn't much bigger than a nice single so why not bring it. It will give me extra storage if he doesn't use it.
