Did anyone NOT like Expedition Everest?

If so, why not?

I liked it yes....did I think it shook me? No way at all. It wasn't what I expected...it was fun..but didn't take my breath away. I'm scared of death being up high(garage roof scares me), but this didn't have that effect on me...I had more fun looking around at stuff than being scared :) Wasn't what I expected.

I didn't love it...but didn't hate it either...I was a little disappointed and thought it was boring...or at least it didn't meet the hype.

Rode it once and never again! I loved the theming and the Yeti, but going backwards in the dark made me feel queasy and have a headache for a couple of hours. I am glad I rode it to see the Yeti, but I won't ride it again!

I thought it was overhyped too... maybe even a little lame. It had cool theming, but I was expecting more from Disney. I'd give it a 6.5 out of 10.

I didn't like it. I hated the pressure in my chest when it was going backwards and spinning around or whatever the heck it was doing. I didn't feel well for quite a while after I got off of it.

Same here...didn't bother me a bit..but different bodies for different people :)

Can someone tell me if this ride is about as intense as Space or Thunder Mtn? I would like to go on with DH but the biggest ride he has ever been on is Space Mtn. He was fine but I think anything more intense would give him a headache.

Space Mtn. is physically much rougher and more jarring than EE.
EE is the smoothest coaster I've been on.

"Intense" is a bit tougher to define.

If you are frightened in Snow White's Scary Adventures that will seem "intense".

If you are frightened at the film sitting in a movie theater, THAT also is considered "intense".

So, if the thought of riding backwards in the dark concerns you, then I suppose that will seem "intense".

But speaking of only the PHYSICAL MOTION of the ride, it is amazingly smooth and quiet compared to virtually any other coaster (including BTM, EE's closest "cousin" IMHO).

Its been my experience that "tensing up" during sections of rides that are unknown can affect me more than the physical forces of the ride itself.

But everyone's reactions (and opinions) are different.
(I just made that up :goodvibes ).

Each must decide which rides to experience based on her/his own circumstance.

I'm glad I did it, and I did use the fast pass so twice in about 2 hours time, but I'm not going to rush out and do it again. I wanted to see the Yeti and the themeing.

I've been on the original MS twice, and felt about the same on that as I did on EE, neither one gave me longstanding symptoms. I have done the tamer MS and probably will keep to that one from now on!

DH is finished with both of the rides as well. He loves the Tower of Terror :confused3

Bobbi :)

i liked it all the way up to the backwards part..then my stomach went :crazy2: ..i gave my fastpass away after i got off feeling the effects still.

Typically being a coaster lover, I am ashamed to admit that the backwards part somehow made me a bit queasy for an hour or so, especially after riding four times in a row. I wonder what it is about that part that seems to "get" some.... :confused3

Regarding the original Mission Space...My DW and I were stumbling through Epcot one day during the final days awaiting the opening. DW says that she thinks people are going in. I said, no way. She said WAY. Turns out they were "tuning" it up to see what people could take. NOW THAT WAS A RIDE !!!! The CMs were calling it the vomit comet at that time. It has really toned down since.

Thanks for the reply. Dd and I can handle all rides. Dh goes on just to make us happy. I do not want to put him on a ride I have not ridden without some information. One time we took him on the log ride at Cedar Point and had to find him some asperin and some shade so he could rest. So I am still on the fence, but leaning to this may not be his cup of tea.

I had to ride it alone since DS6 found out about going backwards. The theme is fantastic, but the ride itself is ok. I LOVE RNR though, so maybe that ruined it for me. This was my first ever trip to WDW and I was going to do all the "thrill" rides, even if it meant alone! Will I ride it again? Yes. Did it make me sick? No. I got sicker on Star Tours :lmao:

I remember reading somewhere about a coupon for a free picture while riding EE. Does anyone have any info about this? Thanks.

My husband got this... It was a game online about Expedition Everest on the Disney Website, then go to the Everest Ride website. I don't know if it's there anymore, but we got our free pic coupon!

see ya later susan :woohoo:

p.s i absolutly loved it :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

DH and I rode it three times last weekend. The first time, I felt a little weird after the part where it goes backward in the dark. I couldn't exactly tell what the track was doing. Spiraling, I think. There was a weird sort of pull. I loved it though - laughed and screamed myself hoarse. The next two times, it didn't bother me at all.
