:guilty: Did anyone get tickets ??? I tried and had no luck at all, so bummed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We don't have tickets. Of course, I didn't try to get them so that might explain why :teeth:

No luck at all and I got through very quickly and also got through multiple times via the web (even for single tickets). Oh well.

The news here is saying that all the tix available for all the possible home games sold out in 18 mins. The scalpers....excuse me brokers are getting around $1000 for the cheap seats and closer to $3000+ for anything decent.

I think I will be happy watch the games on my high-def tv...it looks like I am there anyway!

You could always try again when the Cardinal's tickets go on sale, it's not very far to drive!!!

No.... but I did have tickets for the Red Sox ALCS had they made it that far! My name got picked for the lottery to purchase tickets. Just my luck....... the only chance I ever will have to see a Red Sox/Yankees game and they had to blow it. Oh well we'll just wait until next year. Good luck to Chicago and either St. Louis or Houston...... what a game last night!

I spent an hour helping my chicago sis try to get tix. Ticketmaster is evil. Their site wasn't working from the second the tix went on sale. Then they were gone and it was working.

I had a White Sox fan friend and her DH try to get tickets today. No luck. How do normal people get tickets?? I wish there were a new system!

I had posted this on another thread, as well. Looks like we all had the same experience...

I was online, and I tried. I actually got into the site at 12:04, but then it asked me for the security word, which I typed in, and then it came back and told me that it wasn't correct!!! :earseek:

I know I typed it in correctly, so it was very frustrating. I think that's when I got booted in my place in line. I actually got in when they were offering 4 tickets...and by the time I had to go back and do it all over, they were only offering one ticket. Then, by the time I got through that Security question...they were sold out!!! pirate:

I have talked to a few friends and co-workers, and all came up with the same problem when trying to get tickets. I know it's definitely partly due to immediate site overload, but considering everyone had the same problem, and all got booted off at roughtly the same spot (the security word verification login) it would seem to me that not only was it system overload, but maybe a problem on ticketmasters part...

....but I bet you the brokers still got in.

I was so bummed, DH would have loved the surprise. But, I guess EVERYONE'S DH in a 150 mile radius of Chicago probably would have loved the surprise too!

Congrats to all of you who got them! GO WHITE SOX!!

I heard on WGN (a big Chicago radio station) some interesting facts...There were only going to be about 2000 or so tickets available to the general public for each game.

Apparently, the league has obligations to their good sponsors, each team gets an allotment, the season ticket holders get tickets too. It just doesn't leave too many for the "average family."

i had the same experience with the password thing. Got booted out then told I could only buy one ticket. Didn't matter because there were none available for any game.
Do keep trying. Some credit card purchases will have problems and those tix will come up for sale over the next day or two.

I heard bascially the same thing, about 2,000 - 3,000 tickets.

My question is, where are all those season ticket holders during the season? :confused3

Anybody check Ebay for tickets? Just wondering.

St Louis tickets have already been sold. I was not lucky enough but I have a freind who was able to get a set. She's a happy girl! Now they just need to win!

I too tried to get tickets...on two phone lines and the computer. Most of my office was also trying and no one got thru--same problems described above with the Ticketmaster website and constant busy signals at all the Ticketmaster phone numbers I tried.

It makes me really sad/mad that some of us genuinely wanted to go and didn't get tickets, and then the people just trying to make a quick buck do get tickets. But, such is life--right?

Hey, maybe in my lifetime, a Chicago team will go to the World Series again... :earboy2:

Dh tried (in vain) to get tickets, but no luck. He has been a Sox fan for over thirty years and he wanted this more than anything. We can't justify paying over $1000 per ticket so he'll be watching from home.
