Just passing the time waiting to hear from my DU agent. I've seen a lot of POP posts but haven't seen anyone posts that they've booked BC. Just hoping there is plenty of availability!

You should be able to as long as you are not renting points! DVC does not get the discount. The reason most people are booking value/moderate is because you lose your AP/AAA room discount and have to pay rack rate. You need to weigh the savings.

I did!!! I had the BC booked in January with AAA but cancelled & made my own reservation.

Original package w/ AAA $5500

New package w/ free dining
2 A, 3 C, standard room at Beach Club, 10 MYW w/ hoppers & free dining
$4600

Saved $900!!!!

Still waiting to hear from my AAA agent for the Beach Club, and it's killing me, I'm just too much of a control freak to deal with going through a travel agency. I'm sure everything will be fine, but I still need to know. ;)

Still waiting here. I really feel like we'll be okay, but the controlling part of me wishes I had called myself. DU has been so good in the past - I know they'll pull through!

Just as I posted this I received an email saying she got it. Good luck with yours!

If I had cancelled my AAA vacation and rebooked my vacation with CRO, AAA would have penalized me $100 ($25 per person) for cancelling, so I had no choice, oh well and the wait continues....

That's awesome, when are you going?

Still don't know as of 1:00pm. I'm hoping it's been done and that my TA just hasn't notified me.

We were originally booked at the Swan, but when free dining came out we switched to BC. We stayed at the BC for the first time last September with the free dining and absolutely loved it. We walked over to Epcot or Boardwalk almost every night. We've already made our ADR's and are counting down the days. :)

I emailed my TA and she said I was all set. :thumbsup2 Now I can't wait until I'm holding my confirmation letter in my hot little hands!

We could have had BC but I wanted standard view so we got our second choice - YC.

Normally for a last-minute "cheap" trip I'd have done a mod since Iam forgoing the AP discount and because free dining isn't technically a savings for me since I don't normally get the dining plan anyway... But for this girls weekend, we're splitting the room between several adults and therefore 4 in a YC room is not really much more expensive than 2 in a mod room.

Maybe we'll get some :wizard: in the form of a free view upgrade but we're obviously not counting on it. Now if we don't get any towel animals, on the other hand... :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Does this mean BC standard view was sold out for when you're going? That's what I was worried about and I'm so relieved that we got it. I've never stayed at YC but that would have been my second choice too.

Much to my surprise I was able to change to the Beach Club standard view (9/30 to 10/6) when I called at 2pm CST. I was sure that everything would be booked up by now.

We decided to change knowing that most of our table services would be at Epcot. It made it so easy to bring desserts back to the room after we finished dinner. Then we could have them as a late night snack.

Take Care

I was worried about that too, I didn't want to have to pay extra for the view in order to be able to keep the BC. The view isn't that important to me, especially since my husband likes to keep the curtains closed even when we aren't in the room. :confused3

I assume that's what it meant - my TA made the ressie.

Are YC and BC really that far apart that convenience to Epcot is an issue? I have never stayed in the Boardwalk area and am not familiar with what resorts are in which order and closest to MGM or Epcot. If it's a big deal I will try and switch but I thought all were pretty close?

Thanks, Jackie

That's great!!!!!!!!!! :wizard:

BC and YC are essentially joined and share the same pool ( which is awesome by the way). I think she strwlady must have changed from a resort not in the Epcot area. Beach club is the closer one to Epcot but Yacht club is still very close.
