Did anyone book the dining plan after free dining

I'm staying at CBR from Oct 13-17 and have been torn about getting dining or not. Right now I have AAA rate of $12? a night so I would have to give that up to add dining. I'm having a hard time justifying the dining plan. Has anyone else added the dining plan on? What do you think?
I was really waiting for discounts, bummer.

Well here is my take on it. The AAA discount saves you 15% per night correct? On Regular season when you are going, The rack rate is $134 per night so with the discount you would save $20/night. The dining plan costs $35 per person per night which would be $70/day. I find that when I am in WDW I spend about $100/day on food. So if you will want to eat 1 counter service and 1 table service per day, than go with the plan. If not than maybe the plan is not for you.

I have really been torn about this too. I have POP booked at rack rate so I could easily add the dining plan but we are only there for 2 days. I have the DDE card so I have weighed it out and it just seems like 6 on one, 1/2 dozen on the other. I think if we were staying longer it would make better sense. I mean are we really going to squeeze all of that food into a 2 day stay?

We have the dining plan booked with a AAA package in early Dec. For us it's a good deal, we have several "newbies" coming with us, we're all on the plan, so we can show them a great time without having to worry about how much dinner is going to cost.

Unless something has changed, I don't believe you lose your AAA room discount by adding dining that you are paying for -- just with the free dining you needed to pay rack rate.

Why would you have to give up your AAA Rate for the dining? You can get the AAA discount + pay for the dining plan.

Hmmm, does anyone know if you can add the dining and keep a Fl. resident rate???

If you want both the AAA discount off the room AND the dining plan, you must book directly with a AAA travel agency.

Otherwise, if you book through CRO or any other travel agent and have the AAA discount off a room-only reservation, and you want to add on dining - you lose the AAA discount.

In addition, since this is a package, you must purchase at least a 1 day MYW ticket for each person in your room.

We are saving $254 with the AAA discount.

I just got a quote from AAA North Penn and I am saving $262 over what Disney's website is quoting.

This is for two room at POR, 6 day park tickets and meal plan.

I actually booked under the AP Best Rate for a Value for December. After making my ADR selections and estimating what paying for food, out of pocket, WITH the DDE card, we are actually switching to a package. I am leaving the one night I already paid for, as is and cancelling the other 7 nights. I will pay the $50 fee as well. I am booking at 7 night with Dining with 1 day park tickets and it is CHEAPER for us to do this based one where we are eating. And I will have 3 one day passes for later use, since we won't use them.

I am pretty sure the answer to this is no.
