Did an add-on yesterday at SSR and guess What?

First let me say that I am extremely excited about my add-on. 275 points at SSR I already have 300 at BCV but my DD started kindergarten this year and we needed to do the add-on so that we can visit when school is closed. And I like to visit atleast twice a year. So spoiled am I. But we work hard and save our money for our trips...

But the good part is this when I called my guide for the add-on, she called me back from California where they are in fact working on the California DVC. She also stated to me that VAKL and VCR are definitiely on the board. Although she could not give me any time frames...

Just thought I would share this with all of you. (Although you probably have heard it all before). But it was fun for me to hear it.

I don't know about those rumors. I try not to get too excited, until these things are ''officially'' announced. I would like a DL DVC, I would flip out w/excitement for an AKL DVC, but I wouldn't care for a CR DVC. JMO.

Although anything is possible and I'm certain that DVD will be expanding and adding new resorts... I wouldn't believe anything until it is officially announced AND they start selling points and building.... (ref: Eagle Pines - announced... yet not built)

While I understand why they decided to build SSR instead of EP (better location), I was just mentioning that rumors and even announcements aren't set in stone. Things change and their plans could change.

I would agree that it is highly likely that a DVC could end up in CA (but I wouldn't go so far as to say it is definate). Disney could decide to use the strawberry fields for something else. IMO, CA is a great place to market a DVC in Hawaii, so who knows, that could be coming up.

I'll not be holding my breath until they are announced AND construction is started either. VEP has made all of us a bit skeptical of those kinds of things. I certainly would enjoy a VAKL, not sure I would be too interested in the VCR or VDL.

Is it just me or does VCR just sound really strange? All I can think of is watching a movie! I think it needs to be call CRV. Dang that doesn't work either.
Isn't that a type of car?!?

It would be so exciting if that actually happened - but guides tell different stories.

For example - I talked with my new guide last week. he called while I was at WDW three weeks ago and then sent a postcard. SO I called to say Hi, but that I wasn't going to add on anything - but that he could put me at the top of his list for a VAKL addon.

He said - well, that's not in the foreseeable future - but we can always hope!

I suppose Beastly Kingdom is on the AK drawing board too!

I myself and DW could care less about DL DVC, but, who knows, in a few years I might be interested.....

I firmly believe that they have cost estimates and construction plans for all three of the locations mentioned.

Will one of them get the green light? Perhaps.

Will all three of them get the green light? Maybe in the next couple of decades.

With regard to CA, personally I didn't see the addition of sales staff out there as any indication of a pending resort. We're talking about a few sales booths and a couple dozen staff members. With such low overhead why WOULDN'T they make the investment just to sell points in Florida (or elsewhere)? In fact, I'm surprised it took this long to put staff out there.

That said, I think DL is a natural location for a resort and wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it was the next destination announced.
