Did all you AP people register and get your bands?

We have AP's.... I am trying to figure out if there is any downside to registering under the MDE.?!?
Are the dates to secure fast passes any different than if we didn't and just went about it using our DVC reservation?
I don't know what to make of it.
Thanks for any pointers.

You need to link park admission (MYW ticket or AP) to MDE in order to make advance FP+ selections. Also, by linking your pass to your MDE profile, your MagicBand can be used for park entry.

From the 'MyMagic+ for WDW Annual Passholders' webpage:
If you are an Annual Passholder, you are also invited to plan 7 days of FastPass+ selections within any 30-day period—for 1 park per day. Your 7 days don’t have to be consecutive and you can plan for an additional day as soon as one of your existing days has passed.

You can choose up to 3 FastPass+ experiences per day up to 30 days in advance of your visit—so you can relax and enjoy the moment with your family and friends, knowing that some of your must-do attractions and entertainment are all set.

If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can make your FastPass+ selections up to 60 days prior to check-in. Plus, you may hold FastPass+ selections for up to 7 days or the length of your hotel stay—whichever is greater!

I got a magic band under my AP to get the AP slider. Also got a band from my DVC reservation with the DVC slider. I have every color band now except orange.

You have to register a ticket to get advance fastpasses, you can't get them with just a room reservation.

I'm still missing Blue & Grey. And my Orange one actually belongs to my stuffed Stitch traveling companion courtesy of the Staff at the Beach Club.

Sooooooo I'm a new DVC member, waiting for my membership number to arrive in order to buy discounted DVC APs. As far as I can tell I will receive a voucher to exchange for the APs once I arrive.

Does this mean I can't make FP+ reservations until I actually arrive for vacation and get the actual APs to link to MDE? Or will the voucher link as well? And if the voucher does link, will it work for my wife too?

Thanks!! :goodvibes

Yes, you can link the vouchers to MDE which will allow you to make advance FP+ selections. I believe that a single voucher confirmation number will support up to ten tickets/passes which can all be assigned to the appropriate individuals in MDE.

Even though you can make FP+ selections using a voucher, you would still need to stop at either a park ticket window or guest relations location to exchange for the actual APs.
