All the search engines are showing AirTran's pricing past March 8th. GREAT prices too $93-$111 for the route we're wanting. But when I went to book it after processing it said it was unable to confirm the prices and was unavailable. I then went directly to AirTran's website and they are all over $500 each way! :scared1: Search engines (Kayak, Expedia etc.) are all still showing the lower fares....????

According to the Airtran site, they are booking until 4/12/13 and the next release of dates will be in Oct.

Okay! They must have updated that because it was still saying 3/8/12 after I saw the new prices. Thanks! lol

You're welcome, and the rates should drop in a couple of days. They are always outrageous when they first come out. Good luck! :goodvibes

It's just extremely weird that ALL the search engines are showing these great low fares....yet AirTran's website is showing $400 MORE per person each way! Very strange..

For the flights I was looking at, the site also showed that it was cheaper to fly business class than coach. I thought that was a little odd.:confused3

OP, did you have any luck? Orbitz is showing $253 rt for my dates while Airtran's site shows it at over $400 each way! I can get all the way to the enter credit card info screen in Orbitz and it still shows the $253 price. Is this where it failed when you tried it? (I don't want to actually purchase today, so I can't go past that screen!) Thanks.

No I actually went to the payment processing part (entered CC and was waiting for confirmation)...then a screen popped up saying it was unable to confirm pricing and availability or something like that...and asked me if I wanted to choose another flight. Even today, it says it's $196 return on Orbitz, Kayak, Expedia...etc., but directly on Air Tran's website it's $942!!

I haven't tried booking through Orbitz, but saw the same thing. I can't believe how high the prices are on Airtran's site. I was hoping they would be lower this morning.

No kidding - Airtran is still crazy high this AM. Has anybody had any luck purchasing through one of the travel sites? I might bite the bullet and buy it from Disney, who is offering the same price. Then I am done with it and I don't have to worry!!

Dang it! I just tried to book Airtran thru Disney and it won't let me!! It says my flight is no longer available..........????? Maybe I will call them.....

Disney was not able to book either. They said all the fares are loaded, but unable to book right now?

Smitch - So, has that been your experience with Airtran, that the fares drop in a couple of days. I am dying here because I didn't buy SW this AM in favor of Airtran's schedule, but now I can't book Airtran and SW is way up!! I could never be a gambler, this is about killing me...:confused3

Yep. When my flights for Oct came out, they were $500 one way. I ended up getting the flight down for $111 shortly afterwards. Just be patient...hard to do, I know. :goodvibes

It has also been my experience that AirTran's fares are very high when first loaded.

I saw Indianapolis to Orlando for $262 roundtrip on AirTran in March on Orbitz, and over $400 each way at AirTran. I would rather book directly with AirTran so I will wait.

OK, thanks guys, I will wait, like I have a choice!! :) I am OK with $328.00 R/T which is what all the travel sites are showing...I would THINK that is what Airtran will lower to (at least) in a couple of days, don't ya think?

I am in the same boat waiting for the airfares on Airtran to drop! $502 one-way is not do-able for us! Hoping to see $140 in the next few days...

Just noticed Air Tran has dropped their prices. That being said, I booked SW this morning when they first came out!

Thank you for the info! Only 2 of the options dropped on my date so far. I'm interested in using A+ rewards as well and there are only business class options so far...

Just curious if anyone managed to book with Orbitz at lower than Airtran prices? Airtran has come down, but is still $49 higher than what Orbitz showed originally; now Orbitz has raised prices to match AT.
