My dd is breastfed and hasn't started any other foods yet. Therefore, she has the thin, runny pooh. Sorry if TMI! :rotfl: Anyway, we've tried Huggies, Huggies Supreme, and Luvs. It doesn't happen every time, (but enough to be annoying), but she frequently poops out of the diaper and up the onesie, through the outfit. I would really, really like not to have to deal with that on vacation. How do Pampers do? What kind? Any other brand?

Thanks for the help!

I gotta say, this may not be the tree you were barking up but cloth diapers have been a life saver. They are not all created equal, and they are a bit overwhelming to get started in, but well worth it for us.
ANDDD?? Never a blow out. Not once, in cloth. I was washing a poopy outfit everyday with huggies lol.
IKWYM about the breastfed poo - that stuff is crazy :rotfl:

Well, we had the same problem with my dd. When she pooped, it was EVERYwhere. Very normal to have explosive up the back poops when you have a bf baby.

We never had the same issue. We used cloth and sposies when he was a newborn and didn't have the issue with him with either. I'm not sure if cloth will help or not.

With dd nothing helped! We just made sure we had plenty of dipes and clothes if we left the house.

my dd uses pampers. she has had a few blow outs but generally only when she had a stomach bug. otherwise they've been few and far between.

i have a friend who swears by the bj's brand diaper and says her son never has any leaks at all. he's 14 months old.

good luck!

We have been Pampers loyalists. We had maybe 2 blowouts the entire time DS was in diapers and he rarely leaked through them either. The few times he did was because he slept 10 or more hours straight and I was not waking a baby to change is wet diaper. Easier to pull the crib sheet off and throw it in the wash.

I liked the way Pampers fit and once he outgrew the Newborn diapers I used the Pampers Cruisers. I tried the other type of Pampers and didn't like them as much. The Cruisers just fit to his body better and moved better with him. Our DS did everything early too - crawled at 6 months, walked at just over 10 months.

I think I tried Huggies once and didn't care for them although I love their Pull-Ups way more than I like the Pampers brand. And I was warned never to waste my money on Luvs.

It seems to be different for every kid. I breasted both of my kids until they were 17 months. My daughter had to wear Huggies or else she had "poop-plosions". But, my son had leaks around the legs with Huggies, so we use Pampers. You just have to try the different ones. Pampers swaddlers and then cruisers were great when he was younger, but now he can wear the regular baby dry without too many messes.

We have the same problem, in my opinion they all leak so we are back with huggies. I remember going through the same with my first as well. I fed him 14 months and it does settle down. I also swapped to cloth when I felt I could keep on top of it all. Seth is 7 weeks and I am back on disposables with both boys but am hoping to get myself sorted out to swap Seth over to cloth shortly. Cullen will stay in disposable as he only uses 3 a day normally. Try a size up (unless it is too huge I found this helped a bit for us) and make sure you always run your finger round the leg when you have finished putting new one on. Hope this helps a little.

We used cloth too, and found that when DH snapped them up on the tighter side that it was far more explosive. When I did them up, and I always did them looser than DH did, it rarely happened.

So I'd change sizes, first of all, or close them looser if that's possible with paper diapers (I never changed one on DS, he was only in them for 43 hours, so I don't know).

And I'd keep baby out of onesies for now. We switched over to shirts and bottoms as a precaution. :)

Congrats on nursing your baby and not starting foods so far! :cheer2:

Sorry not too much help here but DD is BF and has just started solids this month - she has always gone on and off out the back of her diapers and we haven't found any that seem to work. We have the best experience with pampers though.

I would try Pampers. I moved both my kids to the next size when they got close to the weight on package. If they are a little bigger then they are more absorbent. Pampers worked great for my DD, but Huggies worked best for my DS :goodvibes .

Same as Heather Sue here... Dd could only wear Huggies...blew out of everything else and ds is a Pampers boy. Every kid is different which is why I NEVER buy a new mom diapers for a shower gift!

I am a fan of Pampers!
Truth be told, it may not matter what diapers you use. It is just something that you may have to deal with for a few more months. Good luck!

Pampers Swaddlers and then Pampers Cruisers when they are bigger. They worked great for both of my kids. Once they started having a lot of blowouts, then I just move to the next size up.

I would also suggest going up one size and see if that helps...
BUT..we use cloth and can honestly say we had 1 poopy blowout and my DD nursed for 20 months. If you are interested at all (i promise it is not bad and their heineys look pretty darn cute in cloth..lol) you can PM me i can give you some links to check out....

We've always used Huggies with great success until they changed to the new "improved" design. Now she leaks every night. I don't like Pampers at all, so I think we might have to try Luvs.

I used Huggies, NOT the supreme but the ones with the streatchy waistband. I did not like the way the huggies supreme fit at all and never understood why they cost more. DD has been potty trained for 6 months - has there been a redesign since then? Anyway, in my experience, when the poop starts to leak, usually it is time for the next size diaper. Doesn't matter what the weight on the package says, when you start getting frequent "blow outs" it is usually time to upsize. Also, you could be having problems due to the way you put the diaper on. Take time, ever time, to adjust the leg openings so the diaper sits against the leg tendons not sagging down, tuck the top way over to the sides, and then tighten the tabs so they meet in the middle of the belly. HTH.

Honestly, I think it has more to do with the baby's body shape than the brands. I would swear by one brand, only to find it didn't work for my next baby.

*side note* For our 4TH baby, Huggies was our brand of choice, then comes along baby #5. I don't know if I bought a defective package, or what, but every night for a week, he'd wake up in the middle of the night, completely soaked, crib sheets and all! Five kids, including a newborn... I was exhausted and changing the crib in the middle of the night was the last thing I wanted to be doing. I NEEDED to vent, so, I called the 1-800 number listed on the side of the package and explained the problem. The woman offered to send me coupons for free diapers. I said, "I don't want coupons for free diapers, I WANT SOMEONE TO COME AND CHANGED THE SHEETS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!"

"I don't want coupons for free diapers, I WANT SOMEONE TO COME AND CHANGED THE SHEETS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!"

:lmao:

I always double or triple layer sheets. Mattress > Mattress pad > sheet > mattress pad > sheet them maybe even a third layer for a kid who is sick or potty training, etc.. That way in the middle of the night I can just strip the top layer and don't have to remake the bed, kwim?

And my final comment, I potty trained DD at age 2, it was awsome! I'm so glad I didn't wait longer, and actually wished I had started even sooner. I read the book "Diaper Free Before 3" and higly recommend it to every parent!

I use Pampers (swaddlers and cruisers) - no complaints. Huggies and Luvs both leaked and way too many blowouts for my liking.
