Does anyone have any packing tips for diapers and baby supplies. I have an 18 month old. I looked into babies travel lite but I wasn't fond of the selection. The concept of having everything delivered and waiting for us at the ship sounds great, but they just don't offer what I'm looking for. So I guess I'll be packing baby diapers, wipes, swim diapers, powder, diaper cream, and baby shampoo. Plus overnight training pants for my potty trained 3 year old (just incase of bed wetting) I was wondering if compression bags might work? Diapers just take up so much room. I thought about sending a box ahead of time, but worry about it not arriving and having to pay a fortune in the gift shops on board.

Are you flying in the day of or day before? Driving? We are staying at WDW before cruise so will have a box shipped down there. We'll plan for it to be there a few days before we arrive. You can do the same thing for the cruise and have it delivered to your room. How are you getting to the port? I would suggest renting a car or using a car service that will allow you to stop at a store on the way so you can pick up supplies. Baby supplies do take up a lot of room and depending on your cruise length took take up a full suitcase or at least half.

We just packed it in the past. I found the space that the diapers took up in the luggage was filled with souvenirs on the way back.

I found that if we unpackaged the diapers then we could just use them as filler in the suitcases. We sorta jammed them in individually to fill in all the cracks between the clothes lol. If you have a suitcase with a front pocket you can put some in there too. I'm not sure that a vaccum bag would help. They're already pretty compressed when they're packaged.

I usually leave them in the plastic (I.e. The bags within a diaper box) to keep them compressed and then plan to use the space for souvenirs on the way home. They do take up a lot of space, but keeping them packed seems to help a bit. As others have mentioned a grocery shop or having them shipped to the resort (if doing the parks first) might be a good option.

Another thing we have done - we have a giant backpack designed to carry car seats. You can fit a lot of diapers in that bag with the car seat (we even managed to fit an infant seat and a convertible in one backpack, but that isn't likely something you need to attempt given your kids ages :thumbsup2). The backpack is extremely helpful at getting the convertible car seat to the bag check desk, especially when also managing luggage and two small children

Lots of great tips here. Thanks! I actually live in Orlando, so not flying or staying at a resort before hand. I'm just trying to make the most out of my packing. This is the first cruise ever for our boys, so I'm a little overwhelmed with all the stuff I need to remember to pack for them. Using the diapers as "filler" sounds like a great option. Also leaving them in the original plastic package might be the most compressed use of space. Thanks for the tips.

Since flying isn't an issue, don't "pack" them at all. Leave them in their original, sealed box and put a luggage tag on them. Hand them to the porter when you arrive and they will be delivered to your room with the rest of your luggage. For the rest of the items (wipes, swim diapers, overnight pull-ups, etc.) just pack a duffle bag full of that stuff and then use that bag to cart off your souvenirs and such at the end of the cruise.

Since you are local just pack the diapers and everything into a cardboard box and slap a lggage tag on it, or have the porters at the port add a tag to it when you get there. It will end up in your room, and since it is a cardboard box, you won't need to bring it home with you. - We have a 14 month old.

Thats a great idea. I didn't know it was possible to bring a cardboard box and check it with the porter as luggage.

Are you checking a stroller or car seat for your flight? When my kids were younger, I would check them in special bags, and then stuff extra diapers in with them! There was always plenty of room with the car seat. You can get the bags anywhere, like Walmart, Target, BRU, etc.
