We just got an ADR for the Diamond Horseshoe as a Table service/ sit down meal for August 18th. I'm sure they opened it up because of the Free Dining. Has anyone eaten here and do they have entertainment still?

DH and I ate there last September during free dining. It was a total disappointment. It was basically a spill over from the Liberty Tree Tavern. There were no characters, no entertainment. Being that we were on our honeymoon, they sat us at one of the corner tables on the stage. It would have been great had there actually been a show!

I was rather disappointed with this ressie, and didn't realize that we would be served the same food as LTT. Perhaps it is different now, but that was our experience. Hope this helps!

The "old" Diamond Horseshoe used to be one of our favorite "must dos" at Magic Kingdom. I can remember my Dad and I running ahead to City Hall to get a reservation to see the show and eat here "back in the day". For those of you who aren't familiar (and I'm sure there's someone who knows much more than I) the Diamond Horseshoe used to be home to a Saloon Revue along the same lines as HDDR. There was a stage show with dancing girls and I still remember the song "Belly up, Belly up to the bar boys..." The best was when they'd humiliate a balding guest by giving him a big lipsticky kiss on his bald spot.:lmao: I believe the lunch consisted of cold sandwiches and chips--nothing special, but a great deal in that the show was free and you were just paying for the lunch. It also was a great way to break up the day in the MK and get out of the heat. Our whole family was sooo disappointed when we heard that Disney had done away with this wonderful show. Anyway, I guess to answer OP's question--I don't know about the current restaurant there, but I'm sure it pales in comparison to the Diamond Horseshoe of yesterday!!
