I am a Diabetes Health Educator, and I am looking for information / recommendations relating to exercise and diabetes. I lead 2 support groups in my local area and want to do an activity challenge with them. Most of the people in the groups are ages 50 and above, so I need information on activities suitable for senior citizens also.
Thanks for your help!

I am so sorry that no one has offered any advice.

Movement, any movement would be wonderful. I think any low aerobic or simple exercise like even sitting type chair exercise might be a good start. There are just so many types of exercises that having to single out one style for any group is difficult.

Thanks for your response. low aerobic or simple exercise sounds like a great idea, especially for the seniors in my group. I'm looking into this .. thanks again!

Walking. The best thing these people can do is start walking for fitness. They can start out with 10-15 minutes and work up to 30-60 minutes most days of the week.

For those that have mobility issues water aerobics is a good second choice.
