DHS Soundstage 1 Project

I think its Pixar related as well, and I don't think its for a expansion of TSMM, that group wouldn't be there for that.......

That is the most "business-like" shirt I've ever seen Lasseter wear.:rotfl:

With The Star Wars movie release time table, I'm guessing they will hold off on doing anything too big till they know for sure the movies will better than the last trilogy. My guess is an X-wing spinner and/or the Mos Eisley cantina. Something quick and easy and sure to be a hit.

Seeing Lasseter there makes me think something big for Pixar. However would they really put something that draws a huge crowd right next to TSMM? Are there any other E-rides (What the heck does E-ride stand for anyway, never figured that one out) right next to each other?

My gut says they will be adding a few more rides and attractions starting with the sound stage and moving into the back lot tour area. They could put a Wreck it Ralph Candy Mt. They would need to file a permit for that wouldn't they?. Which makes me think they have something Pixar related fast tracked (Frozen) and they are spit balling other ideas as we speak. Though that would mean two major draws sitting right next to each other. clearly I have no idea what they are doing but I think, much to my personal dismay, Star Wars Land is a far way off.

I know I saw the name Lasseter and kept looking for the Hawaiian shirt, then thought someone must have gotten it wrong

E-rides mean "E-Ticket" rides. When WDW first opened, you bought booklets of tickets (7 to start); one ticket per ride. But not all rides were/are created equal. There were A, B, C, D and E where E-rides were your big, popular rides and A-rides were the kiddy stuff.

Neither Frozen nor Wreck It Ralph are Pixar.

BTW, adding a third track to TSMM is one of the stupidest rumors I've ever heard in all the years I've been following rumors. I would eat my hat if that happens.

Everything Disney does is to increase revenue. Adding another track would cost $50 million, increase operating costs, and do almost ZERO to increase revenue. It makes NO sense at all.

How do you market that?
"Disney's Hollywood Studios! Now with 50% shorter lines on one attraction! Plan your vacation today!"

Oh, and I'll point out it wouldn't actually result in 50% shorter lines, because of the popularity combined with faster loading would just mean more people would get in line, so you'd just have more customers in the line for the same amount of time. That would be brilliant!

They are dumping a lot of money into the work at the Magic Kingdom hub which will do nothing to increase revenue, but it will help with capacity. They have also been expanding the bus stop at Magic Kingdom, again not going to increase revenue, but needed to handle the increased crowds. Adding a additional track to Toy Story (and the also rumored third theater for Soarin') are relatively cheep ways to increase capacity.

Is that Lassester in front with the hat? Can't tell....he's missing an official Disney name tag!

wow I just assumed they were, but they are produced by John Lasseter

Lasseter has been over both Pixar and Disney Animation Studios at least since Tangled was produced, so he could be representing both properties.

Just to point out Scott Towbridge is in charge of Star Wars related things in imagineering and he was not present in today's sighting. This leads me to believe this is not Star Wars related.

E-Ticket are the big time rides. HM, Pirates, BTMR, TT, Soarin, EE are all considered E ticket type attractions. When walt Disney world first opened you had to purchase ticket books to get on attractions. A ride on dumbo is considered like a b or c ticket. The train was also a b I think. You were allowed to buy more tickets after you had already used yours they had ticket booths throughout the parks.

Wreck it Ralph is not pixar and I don't think this would be a good fit for this anyways no such rumor has ever been talked about before. Frozen is also not pixar.

I have a set of original ticket magnets in my office and can tell you.

Dumbo was a B ticket.
The Railroad was a D ticket.
Origanal E Tickets: It's a Small World, 20,000 Leagues, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Hall of Presidents and believe it or not Country Bear Jamboree.

Pirates was not an original E-ticket because it wasn't originally planned for MK. They thought people in Florida wouldn't be interested in a ride set locally. They were wrong.

I have the magnets too but I didn't get a chance to look at them.

Though Ralph and Frozen are not Pixar, Pixar land is only a rumor, so any Disney movie could be introduced to the park. Frozen is an obvious choice to add due to the popularity and I think the only thing holding it back is that it is so new, Disney may not want to "jump the shark". Plus they will have it in Epcot, and someone (skierpete?)pointed out that there are not many crossovers between parks.

The reason I mentioned Ralph is that (1) it was a pretty big success, (2) it appealed to all ages, (3) it has a mountain that could house a roller coaster. Though HS has a roller coaster, Aerosmith may no longer fit the new theme, and Hs has no "mountain".

There has been talk of renaming the park and "Walt Disney Animation Studios" which is what Lasseter renamed the Disney studios when he took over, seems like a good choice. Maybe they want to introduce more movies other than Pixar into that area of the park.

I know all this is a stretch, but what on here isn't, plus the closer I get to visiting the world the more compelled I feel to post.

Yes but I am putting pieces together. Frozen is getting an attraction in Epcot. They also have the sing a long in DHS. Pixar land already exists in a sense its called Pixar Place, the rumor is an expansion of this area into the closing Backlot area. I really don't see it being frozen. Based on who was in DHS yesterday (John Lasseter) I would say its Pixar related. It takes a lot to get John out for a project and the last major one he was involved in was Carsland. I agree I would like to see a Wreck it Ralph attraction but think a Pixar expansion fits much better. Rumors for the new name still include Hollywood, and there will still be a big movie presence in this park so I don't see why Aerosmith doesn't fit the new theme when we don't even know what that theme is. Hollywood Studios doesn't need a mountain, Epcot doesn't have one either. Every credible source I have seen has said that a larger pixar presence is coming. Biggest things we have are Star Wars and Pixar, two things that will bring crowds to DHS and I'm convinced both are coming in some form. The latest rumored name is Disney Hollywood Adventure or something along that line making it WDW's version of DCA. Pixar has never had a majorly unsuccessful movie most have been highly successful. Star Wars is Star Wars.

yeah I pretty much agree with all that, and I have no desire to see more Frozen, just thought it was a strong possibility since there is so much demand for it.
I did think the Ralph/mountain might be a possibility since, that area is so big, and Disney likes to but roller coasters in mountains...but I get it, it is a strectch
