I am trying to plan my DHS day. I have one set DHS and we can go back if the kids want to.

I have two girls, ages 4 & 8. My 4 year old is more adventurous than my 8 year old. DH & I are not coaster fans so we will probably skip RnR unless my 8 year old surprises us and wants to ride.

So I am trying to get the good stuff in. Honestly, DHS is a real PIA because of the shows.

I think we will use one of our GAD FP's to deal with rides without the TSM stress.

So what shows do you think we should totally plan on going to.

I was thinking:

Beauty & the Beast
HSM 3 Pep Rally
Lights, Motor's Action
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Muppets 3-D

As far as rides go:

ToT
TSM
Star Tours
Great Movie Ride (If there is time since it's not a FP attraction)

Anything you would delete or add keeping in mind I am short on time and want to get the "best" done in case we don't make it back this trip?

Thanks!

Honestly you will have plenty of time to do all of that in a day -- or even just part of the day assuming you arrive at rope drop. Voyage of the Little Mermaid and Muppets may be shows but they are continuous running shows so there is no problem getting in those. You will have to figure out the times you want to do Beauty and the Beast and Lights Motors Action but I have done all of what you have listed above plus Playhouse Disney, RnR and the afternoon parade and been out of there by 5.

I would suggest animation studio. You sit with and imagineer for 25 minutes and learn to draw a Disney character. You 4 yo may be a little young, but it is right next to the Playhouse Disney show if one does that with the younger.

My DD, who is normally the ride ToT and RnRC the whole day wanted to do this over and over last year. I think we did it close to 10 times. We even ran from Epcot to DHS just to get in the last 2 sessions of the day. She was 9 at the time, but there were younger there as well.

We always do: TSM, ToT, RnR, Beauty and the Beast, Great Movie Ride, One Man's Dream.

Things we do if we have time, but not imperative: Star Tours, Muppet Vision 3D, Lights Motors Action, Backlot Tour.

Walk through One Man's Dream! It's a nice exhibit but of course your kids may not be interested in it or the movie at the end. (You can bypass the movie.)

You have a good list. Will the kids be interested in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground? That one is kind of a pain too.

I would add Playhouse Disney Live! for your 4 year old and the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground. I'd cut out the Great Movie Ride if you need to cut. It has a creepy scene from Alien, and my kids don't know many of the movies that are featured in the ride (actually, DD10 probably knows some of them now, but many would be lost on DD7).

There are lots of characters at DHS that you won't find anywhere else (Up characters, Handy Manny, Cars, Sully and Mike, Little Einsteins) - might keep that in mind since it will eat up some time but your kids might want to see them.

I definitely agree with the posters that mentioned One Man's Dream. I never tire walking through there. Its kind of a surreal experience for me because, even though I may already know the information, I feel a little bit closer to the man that started it all. Plus its really cool to see some of the earlier animation and such.

Cool, I will add One Man's Dream. I hate to say it but my 4 year old dislikes most of the Playhouse Disney characters with the exception of Mickey. That is why I did not include it. But, she may still like the Playhouse Disney show. You never know with 4 year olds.
