The newly announced Star Wars dining has thrown a big wrench into my plans... Originally, we had planned for a day at DHS, breakfast at H&V for Princess Sofia (a must), park attractions, etc and Fantasmic Dining at Mama Melrose. Now they just announced two "character" meals in honor of Star Wars weekends which is PERFECT for DS (8) who will be knee deep in "princess" stuff for his younger sisters. There are two options, Sci Fi breakfast with the "real" characters or the Fantasmic package with the Disney regulars in their SW costumes. Our preference is the breakfast because of the characters, ambiance, movie clips, etc but we still have to do breakfast with Princess Sofia. So just when I thought I had a plan, now I'm stuck (and SW meals are 2 credits so there goes another TS meal out the window). Oh and the only reason I was doing the Fantasmic dining was so we didn't have to wait in a looong line for seats (not for the restaurant).

Here's what I came up for on options:

1 - Do SW bfast early, move the Sofia bfast to the latest possible lunch (but this may be limited since availability is low) and cancel the Fantasmic! package and deal with SB lines. The problem here is the two meals can be pretty close to each other and we may be too full. This has the least impact on our plans because we'd keep everything else the same, just move the meals.

2 - Keep my Sofia bfast and Fantasmic ressies as they are and make a ressie for SW Sci Fi on a different day - this would cause us to park hop. Which is not a huge problem but originally we were planning on only doing one park a day (kids are 8, 6 & 4). This would give me two choices:

2a - Hit DHS first for SW Sci Fi bfast then take the boat to Epcot for our "Epcot" day. This would give us a later start at Epcot but our plan was to stay for Illuminations that day. This will be a long day... And would be our day 3 out of 5.

2b - Hit DHS first for SW Sci Fi bfast and then take the bus to AK. Here we were planning on rope dropping for AK as it is also EMH that day for this park. I wasn't planning a full day at AK so the early start didn't bother us. So I don't know if a late start on an EMH day would be a bad choice. We wouldn't have anything else planned for that night so we could stay at AK until the kids were "done". This is currently planned for our last day.

I can not believe how crazy all this planning is... first we moved our ressies so we could have Akherhus early to be first on line for E&A, then they moved them to MK, now SW dining AND it being 2 credits!?!? :faint: So glad it's slow at work.

2a

Makes sense to me.

First, because that interrupts things the least, or seems that way to me.

Secondly because ANY park hopping that involves AK should start there, not end there. It's the only park without evening EMH and it's never open late (because it's basically a zoo and they keep decent hours for the animals).

Epcot can ALWAYS be enjoyed in the later hours. The big rides will be very long waits, but it looks like your young 'uns are too little for Soarin', Test Track, and Mission:Space anyway.

Good luck!

I agree-- 2a looks like your best option. The first option would just cramp your meals, and you really wouldn't be hungry yet. Plus, you'd spend your half your day eating (not just eating but the wait time it takes for a table service restaurant).

I wouldn't hop into AK if it's an EMH. If you can't be there to enjoy the perks of the EMH, showing up late negates the perk. You'll just be walking into big crowds. I think Epcot is a great park to hop to as it disperses people easily and there's a lot to do in WS that doesn't open until 11:00 a.m. anyway.
