DHS 1 table service or DTD

As I wait to be able to make my ADR's I'm wondering if the best use of our table service while at DHS would be to try to go to MM(Fantasmic package if available) or leave the studios and eat in DTD, maybe Spoodles?

We will be there the Wed before Easter if that makes a difference.

Spoodles is located at the Boardwalk, not Downtown Disney.

Thanks for that...as you can see I'm new to this.

I guess I meant Boardwalk, but I am still looking for an opinion re: which table service would be better--Mama Melrose(fantasmic package) or some place else like Spoodles that would be a boat ride away.

HI, I would head over to Spoodles at the Boardwalk. For us, Mama Melrose's is quite like Olive Garden. It's good, just not unique. Also, now that the Fantasmic package doesn't have a special entrance into Fantasmic, it kind of negates the reason for getting the Fantasmic package.

Then you are talking about the Boardwalk area. Downtown Disney is not accessible from the Studios.

Thanks 2manypets, I had read here that the Fantasmic package had changed so I'll keep that in mind.

Oh no, I have a Fantasmic package booked and I had no idea it changed since I have not been on for a few days. I better go do my research. I am not going to pay OOP for this or use up a TS if there is no longer a second entrance and we have to wait in that long line. Thanks!

In answer to the OP, I would go over to Boardwalk. The food quality over there, esp at Spoodles, is much higher than anywhere in HS.

I am not a fan of the 1 credit restaurants in the area. I prefer the 2 credit places (I don't use the dining plan) and the Swan/Dolphin restaurants. Nor do I have children, so I can't make recommendations for a family with children.

Spoodles, as I recall, is pretty good. But that's my opinion.

I actually like 50s Prime Time at the Studios. I like to go to Sci Fi but I would stick to ordering a burger there and I am not clear as to whether or not they have burgers anymore.

We do not "waste" a TS credit in DHS any longer. We use that one for a signature meal somewhere else (Cali Grill this next trip) and just do two CS meals in DHS and get in line a little earlier for Fantasmic (we like the regular seats better anyway, rather than being forced into the far corner - you'd think if you get the package you'd get better seating in the middel or something...).

I have been to Mama's, Prime Time & Sci Fi. They are all just OK in my book...nothing to rave about. Next time we go to DHS we plan to take the boat and go over to the Boardwalk area. We have eaten at Spoodles & Cape May In the past and enjoyed them both.
