While we have not tried either, our schedule allows for 1. I have read so many rave reviews about LeCellier...he just hates the decor of LeCellier, too dark, dungeon like. I do not think our kids will like the food choices at Chefs...and we are on free DDP...I hate to waste a TS where they won't eat and will come out hungry! DD LOVES filet mignon...our other option is to change out Coral Reef ressie for Chefs or LC...and kids are REALLY looking foreward to the atmosphere in there, so hate to change it...help me convince DH to split and aech take a kids, he can have CF w/DS ( he can order chicken fingers and pay OOP) and DD and I can try LeCellier...IF we can coordinate ADR'S.. :lmao: HELP ME CONVINCE HIM!

I might be in the minority but I was not impressed with Le Cellier. It was too dark and depressing. The food was good though. I think the time you wait for your food is horrible. I know they are suppose to simulate the Canadian experience but when I go to Canada my experience is definitely better and shorter than Le Cellier. We waited over one hour for our food, the waitress never came by to check on anything and with the dark, somber atmoshpere I started getting a headache. I think your husband is smart about not wanting to go. Then again, I said I was in the minority because alot of people rave about it,don't see how, but hey, we all like different things.

I am with you hubby. Chef de France is very good. The service is quick, efficient and excellent. The food is delicious(although not very much of it) and it has a nice bright fresh feel to it.

I think if you could swing it I would convince him to split up. That way both of you are happy. It might be tough but heck give it a shot. Good Luck!

I don't like LeCellier either - too dingy. And, when my family wants to eat at Epcot, they would rather sample cuisine from an area further away than "Canada". They chose Chefs de France this year too.

We didn't care for LeCellier either. I thought the atmosphere was terrible. Dark and depressing. Our food was fine, but certainly nothing to write home about. I am intrigued when I read all these glowing reviews of LeCellier because I honestly do not get it :confused3 What is it about this place that people just LOVE?

Anyway, I've never been to Chefs de France, but it sure looks light and bright from the outside. I would have to agree with your husband and give it a try.

We won't be choosing LeCellier again.

Whatever you decide, have a great trip.

We ate at both Chefs de France, and Le Cellier in October when we there. While the atmosphere at Chefs was brighter and lighter it was also very noisy and crowded. We were practically sitting with the people at the next table. We also waited almost an hour for our food, which was the special of french onion soup, roast chicken and creme brulee. While the food was ok..the onion soup was DROWNING in cheese, the wait was excessive. At le cellier it was darker, but not dingy, and quieter. The service was quick for us, and the food was of a good quality. I enjoyed Le Cellier more than Chefs de France for food quality alone.

I look at it this way. I can get a good steak in almost any town. Good French is harder to come by.

Per4sonally, I think you should cancel Coral Reef altogether and do both LeCellier and Chefs de France. They are both much better restaurants. You can see the same view you get at CR up top in the Living Seas without having to waste a TS credit.

Ya know what?

It's one meal out of your life.

But.....I was not impressed with Le Cellier, or, their food.

True that one.

Dh and I ate at Chefs de France last Sept. We both loved it. DH didn't like Le Cellier at all and I just thought it was ok. So if we had to pick between the two, we would go with Chefs de France.

I have yet to eat at Le Cellier b/c I can't get away from Chefs de France. I almost could say that it is my favorite restaurant!!
My father is French and I grew up on this type of food . . .every time I hear a negative review on the Chefs de France (outside of personal opinion for atmosphere), it's really b/c people don't like the ethnicity of the food. Just b/c they are ordering tenderloin, onion soup, or anything for that matter, for example, they have to realize that the French do it their own way, not the American way. The food is exactly how it should taste, in fact, it's amazing.
Stick with Chefs de France!!! (hint - make a late ressise and watch Illuminations from the window!)

I think I actually prefer Chefs De France over Le Cellier. We've been to both several times but Chefs De France has (in my opinion) as good of food as Le Cellier and a better atmosphere. Chefs De France is more open (I love WS and any restaurant where I can still see it is good for me :) ) and great service and food (we were also impressed with the large portions of food).

People for some reason go crazy over Le Cellier on here. It's good but it's not my most favorite restaurant in WDW or even Epcot.

That is true! Also, last December we all had steaks at CdF and they were all of our favorite steaks of the entire trip. They were so thick and cooked perfectly!
