DH thinking about adding another day - PIN question

So, we are booked for 8 nights at the Contemporary using a 40% off PIN that has since expired. We booked a package with the DDP.

DH is now talking about adding on another night, but I'm really not sure how this will work so I figured I would ask here before I call about it.

Would we be able to add a night to our existing reservation with the 40%, even thought that particular PIN booking window has expired? For what it's worth, we also got another PIN that hasn't expired yet for 40% deluxes (the one that runs through most of the year), but that wasn't the PIN we used when we initially booked.

I would prefer, if we do this, to just add a night onto our reservation so we can add one more day of the DDP (as opposed to booking the last night as room only), also I don't want to risk having to move to another room for one night.

The package is already paid off, and it's for the Garden Wing standard rooms that fill up fast. Who knows if another night is even available (I kind of doubt it at this late date).

The other option would be to book just one night at another resort using the valid PIN, room only. While we'd get to experience another resort, I'm not really crazy about that option.

Of course, we could just decide to keep the reservation as is... which is where I'm leaning, but when your DH is pushing for another day at WDW, do you really object?? LOL

Anyway, anyone know the policy on adding a night on a PIN that has already expired?

yes, you can add nights/subtract them, even move from one resort to another. The only stipulation is that you open the reservation within the booking dates. Since that is done, you can modify to your heart's content.

Here's what you cannot do: Each pin you can book up to three rooms. If it is still within the booking dates, you can book up to three rooms, but now, since you are past that time, you cannot add on another room. When it's a free dining reservation, after the booking period, you cannot add on people to the reservation, but you can still move the dates around (completely if you want) within the terms of the pin, even changing resorts. I have done this myself!

Thank you! I was hoping that was the case.

I think our biggest hurdle will be availability. I wonder if we would have better luck trying to add a night when we check in?

Just so you know, in 2008 we added 2 people to the reservation (same room) once the FD offer was offer. No problem.

The front line CM *may* tell you they show 'Zero availbility at all resorts' -- should that be the case.. ask for Guest Services .. G/S has access to closed promo room inventory.;

The front line CM's do too.. but many of them don't know the hows and wheres to access it.
