Despite my Dh being a wonderful and loving man, he unfortunately is too mentally deficient to do several things.
1. Putting kitchen garbage in the garbage can, recycling bin etc. He finds it much more convenient to leave it on the kitchen counter.
2. Putting laundry in the hamper. He leaves it on the bedroom floor where he steps out of it.
3. Loading his dirty dishes in the dishwasher. He unfortunately leaves his dirty plates down in the basement (where we eat in front of the TV - I know its a bad habit). If I'm really lucky, once every few months, he will bring a plate or two up to the kitchen counter.
Now I am no traditional wife, nor did I ever agree to be one. But it turns out that I don't like to live with garbage and dirty dishes around my house. So I end up clearing things up.
I know that I enable him. I agreed to do the laundry, but only if he puts his stuff in the hamper. But in the end, always end up picking it up off the floor. AND I even moved the hamper to his side of the bed to make it more convenient for him and he still throws his stuff on the floor. This makes it clear that he is manipulating me not just being absent minded or whatever.
So wives, does anyone have experience training their husbands in the daily activities of living? And I mean unwilling learners who are quite happy to live in a pig stye.
