DH was back in Orlando on business. Yesterday he and some guys had lunch at Fulton's. He ordered the exact same thing I ordered during our May vacation--that salad that looks like a rosette, salmon and milk chocolate creme brulee. (Actually, all the men ordered the creme brulee because of his raves. ) He said his meal was just as good as ours last month. The service was professional but they did have to wait on refills a few times. Again, service not Mickey Mouse friendly--but certainly not something to keep him away from the food. The men all thought the creme brulee was the best dessert they could remember having.
Aurther's 27 at the top of the Wyndham last night. Pretty formal atmosphere. He said you would not want to be dressed less that business casual to dine here. He said the service was outstanding. Never was a beverage empty. He had a house salad with blue cheese, a filet, wonderful steamed veggies and no dessert. He said the meal was just outstanding. He said it was expensive. He reported the view to be wonderful and he could just make out Illuminations in the distance. He had a wonderful view of all the construction going on at Saratoga Springs.
Today--lunch at Kona. He had been raving to his peers about the pressed pot of Kona coffee at this restaurant. They almost all ordered their own pressed pots. He only ordered the sticky wings for his lunch. Many of the others ordered them, as well, as their appetizer. They all understood afterward why he didn't feel the need to order anything but the wings. They all declared them amazing! Same with the coffee. As a matter of fact, one of the guys went off and found out that he could buy the fresh Kona coffee (that is flown into the Poly each day from Hawaii) by the bag and presented DH with a 12 oz. (I think that was the size) bag because he knew how fond my husband is of it. ($42.50--can you imagine?) DH is thrilled, of course, and can't wait to come home and make a pot.
I live vicariously through him when he goes to Orlando on business ("What did you eat? Tell me everything!") and I thought you might enjoy his restaurant views--even from a business perspective.
I hope I have all his facts straight. (I'm getting all this over the phone--not firsthand!) If you have any questions for him I'll be glad to ask him for you. He will be home in an hour or so from his trip.
