My DH is flying into London on Saturday for business, well actually I think it will be Sunday AM when he gets there. Anyway, he's never been and isn't looking forward to it. Fears he'll find nothing to eat...picky eater and will probably stay in hotel on down time.

I find this CRAZY!! He's staying at the Grange City Hotel and I'm looking at restaraunts on-line, but I'm not sure what area the hotel is in?? Any suggestions on where to find a good meal and things to see?? He's been told no steak houses in London. Very much a meat and potatoes kind of guy!

Thanks

If he is a meat and potatoes guy he will definately find something to eat. There are steak houses in London.

http://www.grangehotels.com/grange_city_hotel/city_map.htm from this site there are tube stations and attractions near.

I am sure you will get some more help in a little while from people that know London better that me ;)

Tell him not to worry.......

This is the area of London I work in. The Grange is a lovely hotel and your husband will find plenty of places to eat although it being a business area it will be pretty dead on the Sunday. A couple of places I could recommend are:

Gaucho Grill (a cab ride from the hotel) known for their juicy Argentinian steaks and great burgers. http://www.gaucho-grill.com/menus/food_argentine_steaks.html

Chez Gerard is nearby at Tower Hill. Steak/frites chain. http://www.santeonline.co.uk/chezgerard/menus/restaurantmenu.htm

Luc’s Brasserie.

Foxtrot Oscar (although I’ve never eaten here but it’s meant to be do great burgers!)

Also, if he came across the river via Tower Bridge which is walkable distance from the Grange there are several restaurants right on the river overlooking the bridge and it’s very scenic. He could try:

Le Pont de la Tour
Blue Print Café
Cantina del Ponte (pizzas)

All of these are Conran restaurant and can be found at www.conran.com.

Hope your DH enjoys his stay. The weather forecast for London over the weekend is for it to be very cold possibly snow so he needs to pack some warm clothes!!!

I hope he enjoys it too. First time away from the kids so, that's going to be hard.

The weather here isn't much better, same temps, but I think we're clear of snow.

Thanks for everyones help. He's going to be traveling to London more often for work, so I'm trying to help make it easier. I just wish I could go as well.
