DH and I had a 9 night trip, for the first time without kids, January 21 through January 30 (3 more nights than planned because we escaped home before the blizzard struck!). We were trying to have this be a somewhat economical trip (using DVC points and my Disney Visa rewards card for food), and then we had to pay for 3 more unexpected nights at ASMu, extra for airfare, kennel, etc. So, we tried not to go too overboard when it came to food. And, I tend to watch what I eat so I don't gain weight... o_O (DH doesn't have that issue, at 6'9")

We stayed 3 nights ASMu:

We had cereal (from home) and milk (bought in the gift shop or food court) in the room each morning. DH got a refillable mug for the trip - a great deal for him! I bought water bottles when needed, wine from the gift shop, made coffee in the room (brought coffee bags, like tea bags, from home) daily on this trip. We also brought microwavable popcorn, Fiber 1 bars, and chocolates from home.

Food court offers a nice variety. Pizza is a great deal! I got the veggie pizza (1/4 pizza) and salad, and had leftover pizza for another night (bought another salad to go with it). DH got an entire cheese pizza and had snacks for 2 more days. I had brought baggies from home. I was astounded at the price of the Light and Fit Greek Yogurt compared to the price I pay at home! I only bought it once during our stay.

We went to Disney Springs 2 days, since I had not previous plans to be in WDW and we didn't want to buy more park tickets. The first day we ate lunch at Earl of Sandwich (split the Earl Club and a fruit cup), both good, and enjoyed sitting outside under the awning watching everyone dash in the rain.

I got the Pot Roast at the food court for dinner. I forget what sides I got, but the meat was good and tasted homemade.

Lunch the following day was at Morimoto Asia (no ADR and sat at bar). We got the Grilled Chicken Bao appetizer, I got the California Sushi roll, and DH got Kung Pao Chicken. All of it was excellent and I would go back. The atmosphere was pretty. The bathrooms were VERY dark, so don't expect to fix your makeup in there ladies! :)

Then, we stayed 3 nights at AKV (Kidani):

Bought beer, wine, and water at the gift shop.

Ate lunch at The Mara. I had Mara Salad - chicken breast, euro greens, lentils, chickpeas, cucumbers, tomatoes, feta, red onion, with chili cilantro dressing $9.69. It was very good and filling.
For dinner we ate at Sanaa. ADRs for 6:55, but we weren't seated until 7:20. We shared the large Indian Style Bread Service (had leftovers for another day's snack), I got the Butter Chicken/Spicy Shrimp/5-grain pilaf and DH got the Lamb Shank (the best meal of the trip for him). Everything was very tasty and our server was attentive and nice. We also got beer and wine.

The next morning, after having our usual cereal in the villa, we shared a Bounty Platter at the Mara for 'brunch'. I ate half the biscuit (or maybe the whole thing...) and most of the eggs. DH had the waffle, bacon and fries. It was tasty and 'hit the spot'.

I had made Boathouse reservations for dinner, at what was supposed to be the second night of our trip originally, but after spending two days in Disney Springs unexpectedly, we decided we weren't going to make the trip back there for an expensive dinner. After reading a bad review of the Boathouse yesterday, I'm glad we made that choice. We ended up eating dinner at The Mara. We shared the veggie flat bread and Half Chicken Dinner. It was good, but DH was expecting more to the 'half'. I was like, one breast, one wing, one thigh and one drumstick IS a half. :) I have no idea what he was thinking, unless he finally realized that, by sharing, he was only getting 1/4!

Finally, a park day! We started in AK, where I got a frozen banana and DH got a pretzel. In HS, I got a Frozen Strawberry Bar. For dinner we went to Sunset Boulevard - Fairfax Fare. We shared a beer, and I got the child's Turkey Sandwich platter, which came with carrot sticks, small bottle of water and applesauce. DH got a cheeseburger. Then we walked to The Trolley Car Cafe and shared a Chewbacca cupcake while waiting for the fireworks. We speed-walked to E for Illuminations!, and I was happy to see kiosks open during the EMH selling drinks and snacks in WS, but we waited until we were back in our villa to have a beer/wine and popped corn popcorn::.

Then we stayed 3 nights at BLT:

For lunch, we ate at the Contempo. I got the California Sushi and DH just got a pineapple cup, since he had eaten cereal and the leftover Na'an bread/dips before leaving AKV.

We bought milk, wine and beer (the cm gave us cold ones from the back that weren't on display) just before we grabbed dinner at the Contempo to bring back to our villa in time to watch Wishes from our balcony. I got the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. DH had the Classic Italian Sub.

MK all the following day. We had a Dole Whip! Ate lunch at The Plaza (never been there before). DH enjoyed his Grilled Reuben and french fries, and I liked my Turkey Club and broccoli slaw (not too saucy). It was a nice, calm atmosphere. I was surprised that the restrooms are not IN the restaurant. A mom with 3 little boys had to leave them alone for a bit when she went. Our waitress was pleasant and I would go back. Dinner was at BOG for the first time (we've eaten lunch there once). I got the French Onion Soup and the Garden Salad, and two glasses of chardonnay . DH got the Braised Pork and was pleased with the flavor and the portion size. He had a beer and an Eclair. It was a nice experience. Sat in the ballroom (noisy), and got a picture with The Beast after dinner. (the only picture someone else took of us the entire trip, since I didn't get Memory Maker).

EPCOT during the next day. We split a chicken pesto (Poulet au Pistou) sandwich in France - Boulangerie Patisserie les Halles. Tried sodas in Ice Station Cool (I don't usually do this because I don't like carbonation) and they were better than I thought they'd be - didn't try the Beverly though... DH got a soft ice cream cone and I got a coffee near Canada. We shared a jalopeno pretzel in America - Block & Hans. They were cooking the pretzels when we got there and, since we weren't a hurry, we waited...and waited. After about 20 min, the cm went to see if they were done and brought me back one and gave it to me free since we waited so long! I felt a little funny but, when we sat to eat it, it was actually a little under cooked, so I felt less guilty  We were in line at the caramel shop in Germany but it was a really long line (and I couldn't make up my mind since everything looked so delicious!) so we left. We bought a bag of sugar and cinnamon coated almonds from a stand on our way out of Epcot.
We went back to the villa to get warmer clothes on and grabbed a Veggie Wrap from the Contempo to share (we needed some veggies today!). Ate that in the villa, had a beer/wine, DH popped popcorn, and then we went to MK. I got another frozen banana later, and DH got a funnel cake.

I was happy I got in all my Disney favorite treats! And we tried a few new dining experiences that we enjoyed.

Sorry if this was somewhat boring, as dining reviews go Just wanted to share.:)

thanks for your reviews...sometimes without the photos I can visualize the food better...especially the under cooked pretzel...thanks again

This was great! Thank you for sharing! Dh and I are planning on trying Morimoto this coming trip (2 weeks!) and I was wondering what the food was like and whether you could get it at the bar (our plan)
Thanks!

Thanks!

We went to lunch at a fairly early time of day (not to mention it was January) and, luckily, a couple was just leaving the bar. Otherwise, we would have had a long wait because it was filled. Hope you get a nice seat, and enjoy the food!
