Question for regular travelers to DL. We will be visiting DL from the east coast in ten days. Do to a scheduling shift by the airline (United), our flight home was bumped up by nearly two hours - now leaving at 8:10am. We already booked Disneyland Express. But, the earliest scheduled arrival at LAX is 7am. Would this be too tight (about 30 minutes to get through security if on time) with normal airport craziness/Friday morning traffic?

way too tight, LAX is U shaped and a one way system, which starts at terminal 1 Southwest. It could 30 minutes or more depending on traffic to get from Terminal 1 to Terminal 7.

Drive time from Disney to LAX at that time would probably be near 90 minutes, to Terminal 1. Add on 30 minutes to get to Terminal 7 and thats around 2 hours travel time.

Then you have to walk into the terminal and walk to security and then go through security, which I would allow 30 minutes.

Then you have to walk from security to your gate, add in a restroom stop and thats another 15 minutes.

For a flight departing 8.10am I would aim to be walking into the terminal at 6..30am the latest, leaving Disneyland around 5am

@Me!Thatswho With a change that big time wise United should allow you to change to another flight at no cost to you. Check to see if any other flights that same day work better for you time wise. Then armed with that info call United and ask about a free change to the flight that works better for you. Sometimes they may even still have a flight around your original time but they adjusted flight numbers and your original flight number gets moved earlier.

DGF?? Do you mean the Grand Californian Hotel (GCH)? The Grand Floridian to LAX is quite a trip!
I agree with the pp that you will be cutting it too close for comfort with that schedule. Either change your flight to a later time or change to a taxi/ride share/car service to pick you up earlier so you make it to LAX with plenty of time before your flight.

Sorry for not following up. We ended up booking an ExecuCar through SuperShuttle. I think it ended up costing us like $60 including tip. Fearing traffic, we scheduled it to pick us up at 5am. The car was there at 4:55, and we were at the airport by 5:38. It was a brilliant decision. Thanks all for encouraging us not to risk the Disneyland Express bus. We definitely will choose SuperShuttle over the Express when we return to DL hopefully in 2021.
