DGC Hotel - Which View?

I am using Developer Points for our first trip to Disneyland! It will be me and my DH. We have enough points to splurge on DGC. Now our only question is which view? Park/Pool or Downtown Disney? At first, I thought Park View but I am concerned since the category is Park/Pool that I might end up in a room overlooking the pool and not the park...Is this possible or does the view overlook both the pool and park???

Our second option would be a Downtown Disney view.

The point difference for our dates is only 13.

For those that have stayed at DGC, which view do you prefer and why? TIA for your opinions.

I am totally sold on the Downtow Disney view and I've had all the choices. The park view, IMO is not anything special at all. It was when the hotel first opened in 2001 (we were there that year and what a fabulous view), but the trees have grown so much that the view is really nothing great. I much prefer DTD view now.
I'm also using my VGC DP to stay at DGC, Concierge (first and only time) Sept 6-9

We've had park/pool view the two times we stayed there. Each time, they put us in a room with a view of the pool. The first time, they moved us and we had an awesome view of Grizzly River Rapids. Loved it! Second time we kept the pool view, which had a back view of Mulholland Madness and some of the boardwalk area. It was okay, but I thought to myself that the DTD view would have been much better. Especially since they were doing construction on the villas - very loud!

So, what do I think? Well, I'd probably go with the DTD view. Like you said, you might end up with the pool view...

We are also fans of the DTD view. I like to sit on the balcony and people watch. We also had a great view of the fireworks @ Disneyland. The park view is great if you are overlooking Grizzly River Rapids but there are not a lot of rooms that have this view compared to the rest of the resort. The other park views overlook the Paradise Pier area although it is quite far from your room.

Thanks everyone! It sounds like a concenus...DTD view it is. It sounds like it's the best view plus I'll get what I'm expecting. I would be disappointed to get a pool view and it sounds like I would be disappointed with the park view too!! Big bonus...I can get the room completely on DP...no regular points!!!
