For those who know me around here, know that my partner and I became members of an organization here in Dallas, that's striving to be a part of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Our Dallas chapter went through a huge stressful division and change last September, almost crushing our hopes of continuing with the organization. Luckily, all of us but 2 pulled together and kept the organization growing. The community has embraced us like you wouldn't believe. We're getting so many invitations to host events, help other organizations, etc. We've held candlelite vigils for World AIDS Day, Anti Bullying demonstrations. We took around Remembrance Veils to have people sign them to remember people they have lost to AIDS and to all the kids who have taken their lives due to bullying. Mix that all in with our weekly outings passing out lube/condoms and we've been busy.
Well last night we officially got voted in to become a Mission of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. So officially we're recognized by them and only a year away from hopefully becoming a fully professed house.
We're kind of excited if you can't tell. Just wanted to share with all my DIS buddies.
We've also been asked to join the Orlando Sisters one of these days for a weekend. Will be crazy!
Here's a pic of Eve (myself) and Bertha (steven) along with one of the best Drag entertainers when she was in Dallas, Maya Douglas. She was in town from Chicago. We miss her.
