Allergies are no fun! Disney was great with them though. There were plenty of excellent options and knowledgeable chefs. At Cinderella's Royal Table they even came up with a safe birthday cake.

First Day at Magic Kingdom Continued

Deyki started getting tired around noon, so we decided to visit the Wish Lounge. It is decorated in a delightful way and is a peaceful oasis from the crowds. I layed down on a big comfy pillow and rested for a little while. Deyki explored the room and found drawers full of toys and games. Nidra and Chantae enjoyed a game of checkers.

WishTrip-153.jpg

It was a convenient place to change Chantae into her Belle gown for our lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table.
WishTrip-150.jpg

Deyki had fun imagining he was Aladdin on the Flying Carpet.
WishTrip-148.jpg

It just so happened that important phone calls came in while we rested in the Wish Lounge. It was the only place quiet enough to hear the phone ring! Baby Dominick went home to his mother today.

We left the Wish Lounge refreshed and ready for more adventures. Our first adventure was meeting Princess Tiana! She adored Nidra's Tiana custom. Actually, she was one of many who commented on it. It was a definite hit! Nidra loved the attention!

WishTrip-158.jpg

We caught most of the show outside the castle. The perfect transition to lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table!

Lunch with Cinderella was definitely on the top of Chantae's list. She was so very quiet, so it was hard to tell what she was thinking. But when I look back at the pictures, I can see the excitement in her eyes.

WishTrip-172.jpg

Once again the chef was very helpful. He helped us pick out a safe option for Deyki. He even said he would come up with a birthday surprise just for him. Lunch was tasty, but this time it was Chantae's turn to be too excited to eat much of anything

Snow White was the first princess to appear.
WishTrip-182.jpg

Snow White snuck a kiss, and Deyki started to cry. He didn't trust another princess after that for the rest of the trip. To get him near one again I had to let them know there is a strict no kissing policy.

WishTrip-183.jpg

This sword is the reason deyki wanted to go to the castle to begin with. He loves swords!

WishTrip-181.jpg

Chantae met her favorite princess!

WishTrip-187.jpg

She participated wholeheartedly in the wish ceremony.

WishTrip-198.jpg

In addition to the ice cream sundae she wanted, the chef brought special, allergy friendly cakes for each of the children. Deyki's was just like Chantae's except for it didn't have the chocolate crown.

WishTrip-201.jpg

Before we left, they noticed that Deyki really loved his sword. They asked if he wanted some more so he could have a sword fight with his sisters and his friends. Then they came out with a bag filled with five or six more swords, half a dozen wands, many more wishing starts, and Cinerella's Coach sequins. They certainly made him feel special!

Chantae changed out of her Belle Gown back to her Belle custom feeling like a real princess!

When we finished lunch, we explored Fantasyland. The magic button sure came in handy since the lines were long and the kids wanted to experience every part of Fantasyland. We had Ariel sign a lunchbox for my little neice. Deyki wouldn't go near her for fear of being kissed. There wasn't a ride they didn't enjoy. In fact we did most of them twice!

Here is Deyki enjoying It's A Small World -
WishTrip-213.jpg

The ferry seemed to be a fun way to return to the car and end our first day at Disney. It was pretty watching the castle change colors as we made our way across the water.

WishTrip-224.jpg

WishTrip-225.jpg

WishTrip-230.jpg

To satisfy Deyki's desire to shop, I had promised to take him to the biggest Disney Store he has ever seen. Off we went to Downtown Disney! We looked through every section of the World of Disney Store.

Chantae bought her first set of Minnie Ears. She looks so cute in them!
WishTrip-236.jpg

Deyki was thrilled to find a light saber and sunglasses that he really didn't need at night! He has to practice with that light saber because he is hoping to fight Darth Vader tomorrow!

WishTrip-232.jpg

The kids played in the water that Stitch spit from the top of the store. Deyki was having the time of his life.
WishTrip-235.jpg

We stopped by the Lego Store and played for awhile.
WishTrip-238.jpg

There was so much more we could have seen and done, but the children were getting hungry. We headed back to GKTW and ate a late dinner at Katie's Kitchen with ice cream for dessert.
WishTrip-242.jpg

Just before we headed back to the villa, we met Suzanne and Mikayla (2specialkids). They had just arrived that day. They recognized us from the boards. As the week went on we were able to spend lots more time together at GKTW.

Up next - Disney Hollywood studios!

Wow, what a fun-filled, busy, day!! The kids look so happy! I love their big smiles! I'm loving your TR!

Glad to see everyone is feeling better. Loving your trip report! I love the picture of Deyki flying on the magic carpet... too cute!! :goodvibes

I can't believe I had nearly completed the TR for Tuesday when my computer shut down without warning, and I lost it all! Ugh!! Here goes attempt number two!

I let the kids sleep in on Tuesday. The girls were still awake by 7, but Deyki slept until after 8. Chantae managed to find adventure before we even left the villa. I drew up a nice, deep, warm jacuzzi bath for her. Then she got the idea to add some shampoo, actually a lot of shampoo! When I checked on her a few minutes later, all I saw was her little head barely above a sea of bubbles. :rotfl2: Nidra thought it was a great idea and joined in herself. What a sight they were covered in bubbles and laughing out loud.

When Deyki woke, we headed to the Gingerbread House for breakfast and stopped for a carousel ride on the way.

WishTrip-263.jpg

Of course we rode again after breakfast.

WishTrip-248.jpg

On this ride Deyki spotted someone fun in the castle. Look who he found. . .
WishTrip-255.jpg

It was our first time in the Castle at GKTW, and there were many wonders to explore.

WishTrip-258.jpg

One thing I love about GKTW are the details everywhere. There is so much just waiting to be discovered. It feeds a child's curiosity fantastically!

It looked like it could rain, but the only drops we saw were a few sprinkles on the way to Disney's Hollywood Studios. Parking was easy and convenient thanks to the power of the magic button. Soon we were arriving, ready for more adventures.

WishTrip-267.jpg

I took them on the Great Movie Ride, one of the few things I remembered from when I went as a nanny 10 years ago. Apparently I didn't remember it well enough. I forgot that there were scary parts, and both Deyki and Chantae were afraid at points.

We headed over to Honey, I Shrunk the Kids next. They had a great time there. Deyki especially enjoyed climbing up and down the nets. There were so many interesting things to be discovered. I think deyki could have stayed there a lot longer, but we were eager to see more things.

WishTrip-272.jpg

WishTrip-273.jpg

Deyki's eyes were full of wonder.
WishTrip-285.jpg

Our next goal was to find Mike and Sully. On the way we stumbled across the Power Rangers. There I saw two adorable little girls in customs. It turned out they belong to MomOf Mulan. It was fun metting someone else from the boards!

WishTrip-294.jpg

We found Mike and Sully, and since the line was really short, thought nothing of waiting. The cast mamber saw us and says, "What are you doing in line? Never stand in a line." Then they brought us straight to the front and the kids met Mike and Sully. I will have to wait until I get my photopass CD to post pictures, because I so enjoyed watching Chantae meet her favorite characters that I completely forgot to take any pictures!

We got this one on the way out.

WishTrip-302.jpg

For some reason, Deyki was in a grumpy little mood. I think there were just too many options and he was overhwhelmed by it all. I took the choices away from him while he pouted, and we headed to the Muppets attraction. He couldn't help but laugh there and was in a much better mood when we left! Another highlight of the week was laughing so much with my children!

WishTrip-305.jpg

We stopped to visit with Lightning McQueen and Mater on our way to the Sci-Fi Dine In. We were a little early for our ADRs, but they sat us right away. Once again the chef was fantastic helping us choose a safe meal for Deyki. They kids loved getting licenses and the fun drinks with light up Tinkerbelles and Cars. It was a relaxing break and the kids were entertained by the movie clips and the whole setting.

WishTrip-309.jpg

After lunch we went to the Jedi Training Academy where they very kindly put Deyki on the list for the 4:00 class.

Up next - the Block Party Parade, Jedi Training Academy, and more GKTW.

Can't wait for the PhotoPass to come!

And Jedi Academy.......:yay:

Great updates! Looks like you guys are having a fabulous trip so far. The kids look great in their new outfits! They really look like they are really loving every little moment!

I haven't been on the boards in a while but I followed along with your PTR and was excited to see your TR. Looks amazing so far. It seems like you guys got to do a lot!! Can't wait to read more. My dd8 wants to do the Jedi Training academy next year so I can't wait to see pics of that.

We got a new bunny today from a friend. It is a gift for Deyki and Chantae's birthday. It's too young to know if it is a boy or a girl, but either way, we named it Mayor Clayton! We knew it was coming while we were still at GKTW. The kids got to tell the real Mayor Clayton all about it, and he jumped up and down and clapped his hands when he heard the bunny would be named after him. I'll have to make you wait for pictures, but he is a cute little guy with one lop ear and one regular bunny ear.

Congratulations on the bunny. We have a lop eared rabbit too, his name is Carrots and he is very tame and sweet.

I love your trip report so far. The kids look like they are having a great time and they look adorable in their outfits.

You look like you are having the time of your life!:goodvibes

wow it really looks like you guys are having a fantastic time. i miss disney (it is definitely my happy place) are you going thru withdrawals? :lmao:
chantae and i have the same favorite princess. belle is smart and pretty, and kind. what more could you ask for in a princess? i cant wait to see the new tiana movie. i am going to take my 3 year old and hope she sits thru it. (shes not a big movie gal) . cant wait for more updates

I'll be back soon with more of our trip report. It was a full week trying to get back into homeschooling, Awana, and all our other weekly activities.

Today we are going to try to make it to the Mickey Mouse Parade in Chicago at the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival. They turn on all the Christmas lights downtown tonight. It's been a fun event the last couple years and will be even more special after our wish trip!

We had a great time at the Mickey Mouse Parade! Our church is just a mile from the parade, so we parked there for free and walked over. We staked out great seats and laid out our Christmas blankets. I had packed games, Christmas books, and candy to make the long wait feel shorter. We picked up a pizza from around the corner and had a picnic of sorts. A woman with two children saw our great spot and asked if she could join us if she brought back hot chocolate. It was a great deal! We had plenty of room on our blanket and something warm was just what we needed by the time they arrived.

The kids loved seeing Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and the chipmunks. Deyki was sure that Mickey remembered him from GKTW!

I am tired now. I really will update our TR sometime soon! Our photopass CD arrived today, so I have even more pics to add in.

Real life is consuming every minute of my time. I would love to have time to sit and relive the wonderful memories, but I don't know if that will happen before Thanksgiving is over.

My littlest one is soon to be my official foster daughter. At least the plan is for her to stay here. We have court in two weeks, and I will be testifying. We had a meeting with DCFS today.

I am hosting Thanksgiving this year. There's lots of cooking and baking to do, and my parents are arriving Wednesday.

I'm really missing the freetime and the fun of our wish trip, but I'm so very thankful for the memories!

I totally understand! Hopefully you will have some time after Thanksgiving. Your children are beautiful and their smiles light up the room. :)
