I don’t care for them myself, but my family does, so I have made them on occasion (typically for Easter, using dyed eggs). I mix the yolks with mayo, mustard and a little sweet relish, then sprinkle with paprika.

I voted spicy - Mayo, mustard, and at least paprika...but if I'm making them just for me, a dash if Frank's Red Hot too. I've never heard of putting sugar in them until this thread!

Definitely spicy. I use mayo, Dijon mustard, and ranch powder for the filling and then top it with a few drops of hot sauce. I'm a hot sauce connoisseur so I like to provide options from mild to 🥵🥵🥵. It's fun to (good naturedly) push the low spice tolerance people to try something out of their comfort zone lol

I never thought of deviled eggs as spicy or sweet. I make mine with mayo, yellow mustard and a bit of Guldens or ground/dijon mustard (honestly, whatever I have in the fridge), paprika on top. Oh wait...Guldens does say spicy.
I guess I make spicy!

We use mayo, a splash of worcestershire, yellow mustard and crushed cheez-its. Wouldn't be a major holiday without them.

I can't imagine sweet deviled eggs.

TELL ME MORE - do you do like crumbs of Cheezits or like bigger chunks of broken ones? We are a Cheezit loving family and I wanna try this! Just hardboiled up 19 eggs last night, so going to attempt with dinner tonight!!

We're really torn in this house. We lean towards sweet as the recipe my husband uses is based on his mom's...which is more of a southern recipe. I prefer it with a bit less in the way of sweet relish than he makes it and prefer a little extra paprika. We both share the opinion that olives do not belong in/on deviled eggs 🤣 but bacon is good for a savory twist. If we go the spicy route, we opt for a local trend and top them with chorizo.

I don’t think of them as savory or sweet. However, I don’t like mayo or mustard, so I don’t make or eat deviled eggs. When my mom made them, she just put a little mayo and salt/pepper in the yolks, so they weren’t sweet or particularly savory either.

I just throw some Cheez-its in a bag and bash it with a rolling pin. You don't want Cheez-it dust, just smallish pieces. Then fold it into the egg mixture. We all love it. Been making them this way for at least 30 years.

Deviled eggs are a must at any holiday dinner… my nephew especially loves them, &, as soon as he comes in the door, he’s making sure that deviled eggs are on the menu.

We use a basic recipe - Duke’s mayo, spicy brown mustard, a little vinegar, a little Worcestershire sauce, & sweet pickle relish w/ paprika sprinkled on top.

Sometimes we jazz it up a little & add bacon or cucumber on top.

I can’t stand mayonnaise, so we always make some w/ plain Greek yogurt instead of mayo.
