Good day!

Just a quick inquiry here to see where everyone has purchased their ownerships. Have they been developer or resale?

If resale, who did you deal with? Have you found any resale agents in Canada?

Thanks

Steve

All our purchases have been direct from Disney and will continue to be thus there are no closing costs and you don't have to worry about passing ROFR.

You can save quite a bit of $$$ going resale is you have some time on your hands.

We have been dealing with the Timshare Store-both Pat and Jason and Jamie (they all are very helpful) and have found them to be very professional.

They all seem very knowledgeable and we would not hesitate to purchase from them.

We are just waiting for the perfect resale!!!

How does resale work?
What would make the perfect resale? This is new to me so I have lots to learn!

Our first timeshare purchased 94 resort traded our boat for a 2 bedroom unit red time, has become a great exchanger for us for Orlando. Our second timeshare we bought resale through Ebay with Holiday group paid $700.00 US for 3 bedroom l/o unit week 10 deeded in Lake Buena Vista

We purchased directly from Disney also because of the incentives and the extra years we get at SSR. We looked into resale at the time but if the deal is too great then Disney buys it back anyways.

We're in the process of closing on our DVC resale. The advantage is you may get a sold out resort (we're buying VWL) if Saratoga doesn't interest you. The deal has been seamless although it does take some time to find a package you want to buy and wait for the deal to close.

Also buying direct from Disney you need 150 points, you can buy a smaller contract resale.

DH and I took the DVC tour when we were down at POR this past March. Because DVC has no licence in Manitoba, we would have had to decide on the spot if we wanted to buy in to SSR. We declined and when we got home we started to investigate resale. We managed to get an OKW contract for 190 points which was roughly the same cost as 150 points at SSR. The process was fairly easy but we did have some minor hassles with the Canadian bank. If we ever buy an add-on we plan on doing it directly from Disney.

but just because we wanted BCV (it was "selling out" at the time), and the "less hassle", as Charles pointed out, really appealed.

Ontario is the only province - so far - that DVD is licensed in...so if you're not right at WDW in person, your only option to do it fomr home would be through a resale broker.

HTH!!
