Hello all,

Can you tell me if you can get the developer points incentive with even a small add-on of 50 points? Also, does anyone know how long this incentive is running and if it's good for 12 months from your UY or 12 months from when you add-on (meaning 12 months from April since that's our UY or 12 months from August when we plan to add-on)? And, do you have to have them USED in 12 months or just have a reservation booked with them within 12 months?

We got double developer points last week (just before the time to use them went from 7 months to 12 months)...here's what "the story" was then:

At SSR (didn't inquire about AKV), you have to buy at least 100 points to get the incentive (double developer points OR $10/point off the price)

You have to use the points (take the vacation, not reserve) within 7 months from the date of your add-on. And that meant date the points were available, not closing date. In our case, we bought 7/19 (or was it 7/20?) and had to use the points by 2/19 (or 2/20)...we used them for a January trip.

I specifically asked these questions myself 2 days ago.

points: the minimum number of points is 100 to receive the double developer points. So if you buy 100 you will get 200 developer points

timeline: You have 12 months from when your contract is official to use them, not from the use year. That wouldnt work, since for ex our use year is Feb 07 so if it was only 12 months from use year we would only have until Feb 08. But thats not the case

deadline: my guide (Jim MCCoy--very good BTW) said this is unknown. Like any incentive prgram it can come or go at any time. Personally I cant imagine the deal lasting very much longer --thats alot of points being handed out. which is also one of the reasons we jumped in

It's available only at SSR and AKV. There is currently a waiting list for members who want to add on at BCV so Disney doesn't need to offer incentives to get people to buy points there, they can't even satisfy the current demand!

So if I buy 100 pojnts, I get 200 developer points plus the 100 I purchased? Or 100 regular points turned into developer points plus 100 extra points? So is the total to use in the next 12 months 200 or 300 if I buy 100?

Plus you ahve to stay within the next 12 months right? So We could not use the developer points to book for next December right?

(I know I can't buy just 100 but the number is easier to work with than the 270 I'm actually buying.)

If you buy 100 points, you get your 100 points in your account that have all of the normal rules plus 200 additional devleoper's points that must be used in 12 months. So the total for the next 12 months is 300.

Jim McCoy is our guide too (he is great!) & we just took the deal yesterday.


- 100 pt min at either SSR or AKV
- based on a 100 pt add-on you'd get 100 points for current UY + 200 developer points that must be used within 1 year so yes, 300 points total for the first year
- no mf's on dp's (might seem obvious but I thought I'd verify)
- cash off in lieu of developer points is still $8 @ AKV & $10 @ SSR
- the amount of points available is limited & when they are gone, they're gone (for the purposes of this promo, that is). I don't expect them to last too long but what do I know?

I'm so happy about the extra 200 I could bust

We had been talking about doing another add-on for a few weeks but since we really didn't need to use the new points until Sept we figured we'd wait until then. Thankfully I called Jim to let him know of our plans & he was able to fill us in the new promo (well, new for SSR). We jumped on it.

How I missed it here on the DIS is beyond me!
