developer points and booking

okay I have 270 developer points to use by July 2009.

I want to book for April 3-8, 2009 they are for SSR. My home resort is AKV so if I am right I can book this at 7 months out which would be September 3.

Can someone just confirm this for me?

I don't want to get this screwed up and will need to post a big sign so I can do this.

Im in the same situation. I'm trying to make some plans before my paperwork is done though, cause I'm like that. But could someone also answer, do the SSR developer points have to be used at SSR?

Developer points assigned to SSR cannot be used at the other DVC resorts...That is the whole point of developer points...Your developer points are ONLY available to book at 7 months out and must be used at SSR, Disney Land or one of the international resorts...So no you can use them anywhere at 7 months out if you have the SSR deal...There are two "deals" out there right now...There is one with AKL developer points as well...But the same rule applies in that you can only use them at AKL.

DH and I (and my parents as well) bought AKV. We all used our developer points to book a long weekend at SSR at the 7 month window. My mom also used the remainder of her developer points and our developer points for a girls week trip at OKW at about 5 months out.

We just bought DVC at AKV and our paperwork says the developer points can only be used at SSR, Disneyland resorts, or Interval International. We just booked a trip to SSR in feb 09 with ours! Yay!! We will have 4 points left over and i think we can deposit those into II. I know 4 points isn't much but i don't want to lose even one, LOL!

7 Mos out is the soonest you can book the trip- You can book it at 5 mos if you like but take the chance of less ressies being available at the time and size you want- definitely book at 7 mos- Sept 3rd I believe and you can book the entire trip (I think) there was adiscussion somewhere here about how they used to have to call every a.m. to add an additional night through the ressie period- I think now you can book 7 mos to the day of check in + 7 days-
Could someone confirm that for us please... Sept 3rd can make ressie for April 3rd - 8th w/o having to call over and over...

I believe the newer developer points have to be used at SSR and can't be used anywhere else, sorry. You'd have to look at your contract or call your guide.

I know my points have to be used at SSR and that isn't an issue we are seeing this as an extra vacation. I am just more confused about actually booking it.

And want to make sure about calling on September 3 for April 3-8

yes, call on September 3rd. If it's a day early for some reason, then they'll tell you to call back.
