developed points extension????

Hi,

We have 160 DPs to use by 3rd Oct - have advertised for rental - no luck so far.

Our trip in May is already booked and paid for - so can't use the points then, and being in the UK its not that easy to pop over for a long weekend

Anyway, we have decided to go for a week in Oct - DH and my holiday dates are fixed, and we land the day our DP's expire.

Do you think there would be any chance of getting a 1 week extension to enable us to use our DP's??

Has anyone heard of this happening?

I would definately call MS and ask if it's possible. Being from overseas they may be a bit more understanding since it's takes some time to make plans and all that. It doesn't hurt to ask at least. The worse they can do is say no. But if you never ask you'll always be kicking yourself wondering if they would.

I agree that you should call and ask. I'm not sure MS is the right place to call, although that would be a start. I might also try a call to your guide...unless your guide is the same as mine. She wouldn't respond or be of any help at all.

Having said that, there may be legal reasons why they can't extend your developer points. My understanding is that developer points come from "undeclared" inventory -- units which have not been formally placed into the timeshare inventory. If the unit you own has now been declared, they might not have any ability to extend the points because they may no longer own them.

If your guide is willing to help you, that may be an alternative to look into if MS's hands are tied.

If worst comes to worst I think you could deposit your developer points into RCI and use it to travel locally

That woudn't work as he seems to ignore any emails or messages I leave him! I will try MS first and see what they say....its only 7 days......hopefully they will play nice and grant me my wish!!!
