Fri. night Jon and I went to the Cape May Cafe, where we waited, and waited, and waited to be seated. The lag time here is just unbelievable! This was the only place where we waited for what seemed like 30 minutes... oh wait, it was 30 minutes. Ridiculous. At least there were cartoons playing for some of the kids who were waiting to enjoy. When we were seated, I couldn't believe how many empty seats there were, this always baffles me, why do we have to wait so long when there are an abundance of seating choices? (this had become one of my huge pet peeves lol!) Then they seated us all the way on the other side of the restaurant, in no mans land... we've been there before. Irritating. Oh well. As we were being seated, I saw this cute couple and I said to myself "wonder if that's Nicki and Todd"... then when Jon and I went to the buffet, I saw her, and said "is your name Nicki?" and of course it was! I really enjoy meeting people, and Nicki and Todd are so sweet! Jon and I hung out with them for a little while, then we went our seperate ways, and back to our hotel... (It was great to meet you guys!)
Since I only have pictures of our dessert plates... (don't ask). I asked Nicki (mickeynicki) if I could poach her pics. from the buffet. The link is:
Nicki's link to the buffet at CMC... Thanks Nicki!!!!
I don't remember what I ate, mostly because I was NOT hungry again, darn DxDP! I couldn't eat the food!
Here are our dessert pictures:
I had two oreo bon bons (To DIE FOR!!!!) a piece of german chocolate cake, and a lemon cheesecake.
Jon had one of everything.... as usual. But he did eat almost all of the pile of shrimp and clams he had on his plate, as well as some of the other things he had.
Here's his plate:
Did Jon eat all of his desserts? well, he ate about 1/2 of each of them, so he sampled... That's fine.
Overall, Cape May had a nice restaurant, but since I'm not into the whole clambake thing (I get my seafood at the ocean, where it comes right out of the water, and hops onto my plate. ~while making a detour to the broiler!) I don't do clams, mussells, or cold shrimp (much) so I didn't really go for it. Jon however, did have a good meal. I went for the oreo bon bons! (delish!) Our server, Bruce, was nice, but since I wasn't really hungry, I just wanted to bag it, and go back to Epcot. (and visit with Nicki and Todd.)
The next morning it was POURING!!!!!!!!! did you hear that???? I knew it would only be a small torrential downpour, then it would clear up, so Jon and I went to the "face of the sun" and had a breakfast at Tusker House! We took a cab from the WL, cuz we were running late (ahem, did I mention Jon's aversion to getting up and moving in the morning?) So it cost us $22 to go from the WL to AK. Not too bad, but hey, We did get in before the other people could, cuz we had reservations! YAY! So this is the first time we did the obligitory "photo" before the breakfast. (yes, we did get this one, but not the other one at Ohana.) I didn't mind it, but it was POURING, did I mention that?

So we took our seats, in the room off the buffet area, smallish room, nice and cozy, not enough room to do the little antics they do at these character breakfasts, but enough that it was cozy....
Our server was Shirley, she was great! I didn't ask for Coffee, and she filled my cup... maybe she could tell I needed caffination! (oh yeah. but I'm not sure what kind of caffiene they serve there.) She also filled our cups with the "special brew" (juice mixture) and checked to see if we needed anything.
Jonathan LOVED this character breakfast! We saw Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Goofy. It was great. Our server kept coming back and took some pictures of us and the characters, which I really apprecitated!
Jon and I visited the buffet and might I say, YUM!
Here's Jon's plate: Can you tell what he likes? Bacon and mickey waffles. LOL!
Here's my plate: I had to have a fruit fix, and some of the sausage and biscuits, and some of the sweet potato stuff (can't remember) and a mickey waffle. By the end of this trip, I was eating more fruit and less heavy stuff.
Here's my birthday cupcake... it was very good, I ate half.
I can't say enough about the Tusker House breakfast... GO... that's what I say... you have to GO!!!! (you won't be disappointed... ) More pics from the buffet next post...
