Could we please make a list of hotels that you have used when flying out of DTW. I need to book something with a shuttle, and early breakfast; clean and safe; a pool would be nice but not a necessity. Thanks!

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn Detroit a few weeks ago - was clean and rooms were nice, breakfast included started at 6am, pool was great - our rate of $120 included 8 days parking at the quick park and the shuttle to the airport was fast and our group of 12 had it to ourselves!

Stayed at baymont 2 years ago, clean but basic, and free shuttle was fine. $89 for the nite included parking for our trip.

Stayed at Howard Johnson last year DISGUSTING - filthy carpet, filthy bathroom, I was NOT impressed at all, but shuttle was ok, parking was free.

No pool at either. HTH

stayed at the Best Western 2 years ago and it was grosse!

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza a few weeks ago and loved it! For a little more money it was a beuatiful hotel and our roomlooked over the atrium and indoor pool and jaccuzzi! Very nice.

Almost all of the hotels offer free shuttles but you have to put your car in a lot for the duration of your stay and use that shuttle to get it when you get home.

four years ago, my husband and I stayed at the doubletree (I dont know if it is still there or maybe a name change????) it was very nice, and clean, and hot oatmeal cookies upon arrival.. mmmm it was 99.00 for a park and fly.
This time around, I am booked at Four Points by Sheraton, for their overnight stay (I get a smoken discount through work) and we are parking at the quick lot for 35$ for 8 days parking.
Only thing that stinks is... I have to take the car to the quick lot the morning of our flight... then the quick lot will shuttle us to the airport.. Ahhh well
it sure beats having to drive down the morning of our flight...
I am doing this solo with the kids.. so, it will be interesting haha...

Many hotels in the DTW area utilize either Airline Parking or QuickPark. Both of these sites you can drop your car off the night before or the morning of departure.

The nicest hotel in the DTW area is now the Embassy Suites, recently totally redone and rebranded from the Hilton. WOW was this nice... and CHIC! Open "managers reception" in the evening with open bar, and cook to order breakfast/omletts in the morning along with a great hot buffet.

Hands down the only place we would book when we return to the DTW area. One of the nicer hotels I have stayed in, and I have stayed in a lot! I would say in line with Hilton downtown toronto!

We payed around $125-$129 which included 10 days parking.

We stayed at the Ramada right next to Bob Evans. It was around $99 for the night and included 7 nights parking at airlines parking across the street.

There was also a continental breakfast which was ok.

Room was clean and comfortable for the night. I'd go back there again.

thats the only bummer about getting the discount on the overnight stay..
no continental breakfast..but, from what I save...to what I would spend on breakfast... It will still work out to being less expensive to buy breakfast, even at the airport... all I need is a coffee... LOL

I like to stay at the Hampton Inn. It has a continental breakfast but DH prefers to go to Bob Evan's next door. Last October we paid $120 for their Park and Fly package, parking is at Airlines Parking across the street.

When DH goes on business trips he usually stays at the Ramada next door which he finds perfectly adequate but I have a thing about Ramada's (from a bad stay in Cocoa Beach years ago) and after an uncomfortable night at the Detroit Airport Ramada one trip, DH let me pick the Hampton again. ;)

We booked the Westin inside the airport and loved it. It was such a great deal! We booked it at the time for $99 through Expedia.ca. And, it was well worth it. The only thing is that there weren't a lot of food options if you weren't leaving the airport. We ordered pizza in.

We parked on the Big Blue Deck for $6 per day while we away including the night we stayed there.

Cedric the Entertainer was even staying down the hall from us... we also can't say enough about the Westin beds and DH loved watching the runway right outside our window. There was a window seat and we could see the control tower, and it was completely soundproof.

You can stay at the Westin Detroit Meropolitan Airport for $169 per night which includes valet parking and 8 days free parking. You must phone the hotel direct (734-942-6500) and refer to code MLT. This place is so nice and so convenient. It is worth the extra $40-$50 or less that the other hotels charge

You recently stayed here, and only paid $6 @ the Big blue deck?? Did you get a deal on your daily rate? I checked the BBD site, and it said $9/day?? Just wondering if I am missing a deal, Thanks!

It was over a year ago, maybe the prices have gone up?! We were also there for a long period of time... over 2 weeks, so that might have something to do with it.

Also, if you are going there, and you haven't been there before... give yourself lots of time to find parking. I think we circled the parking lot for close to an hour to find a single space, eventually we just waited by the door and followed someone to their car!!!!!! To stay at the Westin, it was entirely worth it... just don't leave yourself strapped for time.

We stayed at LaQuinta which is attached to the Quikpark. It was great. I think it was $99 and that included 8 days of parking......plus the continental breakfast was out really early for the early fliers (our plane left at 6:00).

Has anyone used the Comfort Inn-wwwdotcomfortinndotcom/ires/en-US/html/HotelInfo?hotel=MI048 -? It looks reasonable.

I too am looking for a DTW hotel for the beginning of April, and I am having trouble. There are so many mixed reviews! :confused3 I need a place that has a nice continental breakfast that starts before 5:30 a.m. Please help!!!!

HTH

A friend of mine just stayed here and they have the parking right onsite. I think they are the only hotel at DTW that does. HOWEVER, he car was broken into and so were several others. Their shuttle doesn't run as often so he said sometimes there would be 20-30 minutes in between shuttles.

four years ago, my husband and I stayed at the doubletree (I dont know if it is still there or maybe a name change????)

It's now called the Metropolitan. Still has the cookies, still a beautiful hotel, great pool but I found their service was horrible. We stayed there when our son was 2. We booked 3 months in advance, was assured I'd get a main floor room and a pack n play/crib. We didn't get a main floor room and it took 4 phone calls and 3 hours to get a crib. Which ended up with my son in bed 2 hours later than I planned. No cream or milk for coffee in lobby and half the menu items for room service weren't available. We paid $129/nght 2 yrs ago.

We've switched to the Ramada, not as nice at the Metropolitan, but great service and great breakfast in the AM. They only have an outdoor pool. We paid $89/night. We'll definetely be back.

So I just got back from our trip and using the Ramada by DTW. It was clean, not disgusting like others have said. Although a warning I will give: We booked through the park, sleep and fly and the Ramada will over charge you!!! Our rate was $103 through Park, sleep, fly, but the ramada charged me the $103 PLUS they did not refund the $28 I paid as a deposit to park,sleep,fly..So $131 was charged to my card  Even when i tried to fix it they gave me paper work that showed that they reversed part of the charges, but they did not. I will be calling Park, sleep, fly today, and my credit card. What a joke! I'm sure they do this to people ALL the time!!! Just check before you sign IF  you stay there, or just book through the hotel if it is the same price.....
