We have lunch reservations (me,dh,ds,dd). Can you please tell me some of the details. I have read about a wishing ceremony?? This is our first time eating at the castle and I am just wondering what to expect.
njmom..welcome! And congrats on getting a table service at the castle! It is a not miss for our trip...something of a tradition...we have had all three meals there but they were over 3 years ago and things have changed a bit...so the "old" way of doing things may not help you...but what I've read is that if you are doing breakfast/lunch they take a picture of you with Cinderella down in the "lobby"....then you go up to the restaurant and kids under 10 get something special to take home (wand....) For dinner, Cindy does not hang out at the restaurant but you get to see her in the lobby...I'm not clued in on the wishes thing you mentioned...but the food is fine, the atmosphere is great and you'll enjoy the meal!
I remember something when we went in January for lunch- our server handed everyone these plastic wishing stars- and there was this recording with maybe the fairy godmother over head asking everyone to hold onto their stars and make a wish. Or something along those lines. I'm sure someone else who's been there more recently can clarify.
Thanks for starting this post. I am curious about CRT too. I have ADRs for dinner, and i heard that it is a no character dinner. I am starting to wonder if i made the wrong choice and should have opted for lunch instead for DD's birthday. I was told that we would meet Cinderella in the lobby for a photo and the Fairy Godmother only appears at dinner to do a special show and you get a special lithograph with this package, whereas with breakfast and lunch it is just character meet and greets. So some clarity on this would be wonderful.
dinner is as you have described. The FG and mice put on a little show but do not mingle around the tables at dinner. Cinderella is in the lobby for photos as she is for all meals. At breakfast and lunch there are characters going from table to table to meet the guests. There is a wishing ceremony where all the kids get a star and can make a wish. The lights in the restaurant twinkle when this is done. Boys get swords and girls get wands as souveniers. We have had lunch the last two years and the swords, wands and stars all changed (though the menu didn't). Each party is presented with a picture of the castle in a decorative cardboard holder with a 6x8 (?) and four smaller photos. Large parties will receive additional pictures based on the number in the party.
We went to CRT for lunch in Feb. 2008
First you go into the downstairs lobby to take a picture with Cinderella. Then children are handed either a sword or a wand and a wishing star (plastic star that says "wishing star" on it). After that you are taken upstairs to Cinderella's dining room. The dining room is filled as "groups" and then the Princesses are announced. They mingle from table to table. About the time desserts are being ordered and passed out a "wishing ceremony" starts. The Fairy Godmother is heard overhead, she says something or another about wishes, has the kids close their eyes and make a wish on their "wishing star" then say the magic words "bibidi, bobidi, boo" and the some twinkling lights spread all over the ceiling and I think some magic music or something like that. You'll also recieve a picture package which is included. It has a larger picture of your kiddos with Cinderella and four smaller pictures, as well as a picture of the castle. It is my understanding that you will recieve only one picture package per table. So if you have mutiply families or children dining together make certain to check on that.
I'm not sure what dinner has to offer. We went there a year ago and we saw Cinderella in the lobby. That was it for the entertainment. We have dinner planned there in April so I'm excited to hear that there may be some new entertainment going on and the "free" pictures.
Do the kids get the wands and swords for breakfast aswell. Also is there the wishing ceremony for Breakfast. I have a breakfast ADR in May. I was just wondering if i should try to get a lunch instead.
